The following clarification is for the bid form for WKU Small Business Incubator. NOTE: All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum (#2) on bid form. General 1.

All contractors shall be licensed in the state of Kentucky and certified to perform construction work in the city of Bowling Green.

2.

Installation of all roof penetrations including but not limited to cutting, patching, curbs, equipment rails, piping supports and electric shall be installed to maintain roof warranty. The contractor shall contact TRINCO – Toddy Hyams at [email protected] and include in his bid all costs associated with the referenced scopes of work including costs from TRINCO.

3.

Patch all openings created by demo work with brick and CMU as necessary.

4.

Patch with brick and block an approximately 2’x2’ hole in the exterior wall above the existing storefront in Premium Space #106.

5.

6” vinyl-backed insulation shall be located in all rooms except Premium Space #106.

6.

Door #105 is located between Premium Space #106 and Corridor #108.

7.

Door #106 is located at the closet in Premium Space #106.

Finishes 8.

Paint 12” x 12” column wrap in mall area to height of 21’-0”. Paint color/texture to match mall interior.

9.

Paint existing exterior wall adjacent to Premium Space #106 to parapet, app. 1,000 sq. ft.

10. Solid core wood doors shall have a clear factory finish. Unfinished

doors will not be accepted. 11. Solid surface countertops (Women’s RR #109 and Men’s RR #110) to

be “Gothic Cornerstone” (#715) by Formica Solid Surface. 12. No finish is required for the floor slab in Premium Space #106. 13. Florock is approved equal to sealed concrete floor. 14. Oshkosh Door Company is approved. 15. Provide alternate pricing for ceramic tile in Women’s R.R. #109 and

Men’s R.R. #110. See attached supplemental drawing for tile type, location and pattern. Ceramic tile wainscot to be applied to all restroom walls. Replace VCT beneath water coolers with CT-2. 16. Carpet tiles to be Kinetic Series, #58760 “Copper Frost” by Shaw,

The following shall be included in contract drawings and specifications on referenced project. All bidders shall acknowledge receipt of this addendum on bid form.

Mechanical - Drawings 1. Reference Drawing M-0 and the attached sketch MSK10132011-1 for size information for the ductless Split System AHU/CU-101 indicated for Alternate #2 on the floor plan. 2. Reference Drawing M-0 and the INSULATION SCHEDULE. Revise General Notes B & C to the following. a. Duct insulation shall comply with requirements in specification “DUCT INSULATION”. b. Piping insulation shall comply with requirements in specification “ HVAC EQUIPMENT” Mechanical Specifications - Division 23 1.

Refer to Division 23 Section 230993 “SEQUENCE OF OPERATION FOR HVAC CONTROLS ”, Page 230993-2, Article 1.5 PACKAGED ROOFTOP UNITS, PARAGRAPH G, ADD new sub-paragraph 4.: “4. Under this Alternate Bid #3 provide a direct digital control system for control of rooftop units in lieu of wall-mounted programmable thermostat control.” i. Control panel for control system shall be located in Jan 111.

Refer to Division 23 Section 230993 “SEQUENCE OF OPERATION FOR HVAC CONTROLS ”, Page 230993-2, Article 1.5 PACKAGED ROOFTOP UNITS, PARAGRAPH G, ADD new sub-paragraph 5.: “5. Under this Alternate Bid #3 the control system for this building shall communicate with the existing JCI (Johnson Controls, Inc) Western Kentucky University campus control system. Provide BACNet compatible control system. Control wiring shall be terminated in a single wiring cabinet/panel to facilitate connection and integration into the JCI campus control system.”

Refer to Division 23 Section 230993 “SEQUENCE OF OPERATION FOR HVAC CONTROLS ”, Page 230993-3, Article 1.9 (ALTERNATE PRICING) BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM (BAS) INPUT/OUTPUT (I/0) POINT SCHEDULE:, PARAGRAPH B, sub-paragraph 1., ADD new subsubparagraph d.: “d. Exhaust Fan, EF-101 (restrooms): start/stop (relay)”

Plumbing/Mechanical/Electrical 1.

Reference Drawing PME-1 and Mechanical Keynote No. 13. Replace Structural Drawings with Architectural drawings.

Electrical 1.

Clarification: All fire alarm devices and cabling shall be provided and installed by Simplex. Backboxes and conduit stubbed to above ceiling and j-hooks to fire alarm control panel shall be provided and installed by the Electrical Contractor for the fire alarm system.

2.

Clarification: MC Cable is not acceptable.

3.

Clarification: Lumenation is approved to bid the lighting portion of this project.

4.

Clarification: Reference Drawing E-0; light fixture F4 shall have two (2) 28W T5 lamps.

5.

Clarification: Reference drawing E-2; key note #18 shall read, “Electrical Contractor shall extend one (1) two-inch (2”) conduit from accessible ceiling space of data closet to existing BGMU Mall “IT ROOM 130” with a 12 bundle multi-mode fiber with LC connectors. Electrical Contractor shall verify exact route prior to rough-in and provide any additional pull boxes as necessary for installation.”

Reference Drawing E-2 and attached sketch ESK10132011-01 for addition of exit light and emergency fixture in unfinished space.

7.

Reference Drawing E-2 and attached sketch ESK10132011-02 for addition of fire alarm system A/V device in unfinished space.

Contractor Questions-Electrical 1.

Question:

Sheet E-2, lighting circuit for Corridor 105 lighting is marked “HVP1-1”. The panel schedule shows “HVP1-5”.

Response: Reference Drawing E-2 and the attached sketch ESK10132011-01 for revised circuit designation. 2.

Question:

Should there be a 3-way switch at the commons area front door to work with the rear door?

Response: Reference Drawing E-2 and the attached sketch ESK10132011-01 for addition of 3-way switch. 3.

Question:

Should there be an emergency light in Corridor 105 towards the rear door area?

Response: Reference Drawing E-2 and the attached sketch ESK10132011-01 for addition of emergency light .

Question:

Is the WKU data wiring vendor doing the IT wiring for this project? Note #11 on sheet E2 shows the contractor installing this. The wiring will have to be done by someone with a BICSI license according to the IT department in the past.

Response: The electrical contractor is responsible for providing and installing the wiring in voice/data outlets designated by key note #11. The CAT6 cables specified shall be installed by a licensed BICSI installer. These are not part of WKU IT scope as these devices connect to BGMU communications. 5.

Question:

The water coolers in Corridor 105 are not circuited.

Response: Reference Drawings E-2 and E-3 and the attached sketches ESK10132011-02 and ESK10132011-03 for addition of circuit to water cooler. 6.

Question:

The receptacles in the front area of Corridor are not labeled.

Response: Reference Drawing E-2 and attached sketch ESK10132011-02 for connection of receptacles in Corridor 105 to circuit LVP1-2. 7.

Question:

The 2” IT raceway that routes to the MDF room in the SBI Accelerator have to go vertical for bends required by the IT department and past specs that will need pull boxes. There are not shown on the drawings.

Response: Provide 16” x 16” pull boxes at all locations where changes in direction occur. 8.

Question:

In addition, this 2” conduit is shown routed above the Secure Room in EWA’s offices. In the past, this has been an act of congress to access above their ceiling space for this area. Should the conduit be routed differently to avoid any problems?

Response: This route was confirmed on site. The Electrical Contractor shall coordinate with the tenant of the spaces where access is required to determine a time when work can be completed. 9.

Question:

On Sheet E-2 and PME-1 there is mention on Alternate #2 for CDP-1. The specifications say there are no Alternates. Is this part of the Base Bid?

Response: The CDP-1 is part of Alternate #2. Refer to sheets M-1 and E-2. This is part of the ductless split system alternate for the Data 107 room. END OF ADDENDUM NO.2
