I must enroll as a fulltime student,
participate in all practices and all games, and maintain a positive attitude and high moral character to remain on the team as well as a 2.0 GPA. Outside employment cannot interfere with my duties since I am receiving scholarship funds from Southwest to provide a service. All positions are available at tryouts and the judge’s calculations/selections are final. Up to a total of 18 selected. At least one female and male serve as captains; tenure is one school year only. The coach selects captains based on judge’s scores, yet candidates must include strong leadership skills, positive role model, dependability, and ability to control the team in a positive manner. Partners/groups are not permanently assigned and subject to change. Other participants will remain in an alternate status according to rank and based on the judges final scores. High scoring alternates enrolled fulltime at SMCC will be called upon to join the team when those selected are unable to fulfill their duties. Any negative allegations regarding tryout process or selections revoke all privileges of an alternate status. Tryout clinic is set for March 28th, 2017 @ 2:00 pm. Clinic is mandatory to try out. Tryouts are set for March 31, 2017 @ 2:00 pm. And this is also mandatory. Please wear black/navy shorts with white top and tennis shoes. NO LOGOS PERMITTED DURING TRYOUTS. THE DEADLINE TO TURN IN FORMS IS MARCH 23, 2017. APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE. Along with application please include your $20.00 tryout fee (checks made out to SMCC CHEER) along with copy of insurance card; front and back, and an unofficial high school transcript. You can get a copy from your counselor at your high school. If you are a current SMCC student, then let me know and I will check your GPA.
