Snack Bar Guidelines: The success of Irvine PONY Baseball depends on parent participation and this is especially true for our Snack Bar. To this end, we require every family to volunteer their time in areas such as Coaching, Assistant Coaching, Team Parent, Scorekeeping, creating the Yearbook Team Page, and most importantly, working the Snack Bar. No family is exempt from volunteering. Volunteer time is on a per player basis, but of course, for those of you who are willing and able, we are happy to have you volunteer more and welcome you to become an active participant in our community. The PONY Shack depends entirely on parent volunteers. It is also an important part of the total experience of IPB for all our players and families. Everyone, please help! Please read the following guidelines for The PONY Shack: • •

Volunteering at The PONY Shack are in blocks of 4 hours. The minimum age to work in the Snack Bar is 16. No one under the age of 16 is allowed to be inside the snack bar. Please do not bring your children in The PONY Shack, as they are not allowed inside. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift time! You will be trained. You CANNOT split shifts with people. Everyone is trained at the beginning of his or her shift. Failure to appear without notice will result in a Team Fine of $320. No exceptions! You team is ultimately responsible for any “no-shows” regardless of illnesses, emergencies, or unusual last minute circumstances. Our kid’s look forward to The PONY Shack being open during their games and the only way that happens is if our volunteers are there to work their shift. Please plan accordingly. We, at The PONY Shack, have worked hard to maintain the cleanliness of our Snack Bar and strive to provide a sanitary food service environment for our kids. Please come dressed appropriately. No tank tops, dresses, skirts, flip-flops or open-toed shoes allowed. Long hair must be tied back in order to be in the kitchen. Although we would love to accommodate you on which station you would like to work, we cannot always do so. If you are coming from work and dressed in a suit, please know, you WILL get dirty and go home smelling like burgers and fries J Please note that Snack Bar shifts are only scheduled during game times. Should games be rained out, your Team’s shift will be postponed to accommodate those games that are rescheduled. You can contact the MUDD Line at (949) 724-6833 to find out if fields are open. If you are injured or too ill to play baseball, then you are too injured or ill to work at The PONY Shack. Please stay home and consider the $80 buy-out to the league so we can hire someone to fill your position. We understand that unusual circumstances do occur, however, we do require at least 48 hours to fill your position. There is ALWAYS something to do at The PONY Shack and we WELCOME ANY DROP-IN VOLUNTEERS! REMINDER: Everyone you see at The PONY Shack are volunteers as well, so please treat them as you would like to be treated yourself. The goal of IPB is to have enough volunteers to provide Snack Bar services for our awesome kid’s. Please know that we are there for them and LOVE putting smiles on their faces J Sincerely, Jennifer Bates The PONY Shack Manager
