“This is my fourth season with Oswego State and I am thrilled to be involved in the SUNY Athletic Conference. I know how great it is at developing student-athletes.” McGrane added, “Oswego State is a great school with tremendous support from faculty, administration and students for their athletic programs. I am hoping that the team and I continue to grow as we work our way to the top of the SUNYAC conference.” “I want to instill a hard-working attitude and also make it enjoyable if I can,” McGrane said. “It takes a lot of discipline and focus to develop into a fierce competitor in this conference, but it is also important to enjoy what you are doing. My intent is that we can have fun without compromising our ability to work hard every day.” In the summer of 2008, McGrane coached the Central region men’s open soccer team to a gold medal in the Empire State games, their first medal in soccer since 2002. McGrane is a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh where he earned All-America honors in 2001 as a midfielder. In 2001, he was also voted SUNYAC Player of the Year as well as Plattsburgh State Male Athlete of the Year. He was a four-time First Team All-Region and All-SUNYAC player.

2009 Season in Review Lakers Fall Just Short of Post-Season The women’s soccer team improved its overall record for the third straight season. Rookie sensation Michelle Bateman burst onto the collegiate scene with one of the best single-season offensive performances in school history. Bateman scored 16 goals, which tied for the fifth-best mark all-time, and recorded 37 points, which ranked as the sixth-best single-season mark. She later earned Third Team All-SUNYAC recognition.
