CHAIRMAN’S NAME:

MEETING DATE/TIME:

ANTITRUST POLICY STATEMENT DISTRIBUTED BY: Ken Doyle ROLL CALL: Kerry Oliver, Vice Chair, Dave Collins, Treasurer, Jason McAuliffe, Carl Boyett, Paul Reid, Tom Schmidt, Joe Petrowski, Tom Gresham, Dave Baker and Ken Doyle, President Antitrust Policy: Distributed and discussed by Kerry Oliver DECISIONS MADE: Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. It was agreed that Joe Petrowski will do an education forum on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, the night before SIGMA’s July 16, 2014 Day on the Hill. His topic will be Vision of Future Fuels. Joe will provide the board and staff the presentation deck draft so they can develop marketing materials. The Fuel Foundation will also do a soft ask at this event. Staff will focus in on finding a location. The November, 2014 event will be the opening afternoon of the SIGMA Annual Meeting and members and non-members will be invited. The leadership will need to firm up the facilitator and panelists so the staff can create the marketing materials and get the interest level up, similar to an OPIS event. The board will do a hard ask at this event. Question to be answered: Does The Fuel Foundation charge a fee for nonmembers to attend only this session? The board discussed branding, again. It was agreed The Fuel Foundation will brand under SIGMA’s website and sub-brand with a tag line of something like, "Brought to you by The Fuel Foundation." The Fuel Foundation will make a formal ask to share groups for the Top 10 Best Practices for Marketers for each subject area to post on the portal. Then, The Fuel Foundation will send out an e-blast to notify members to take the challenge to see if their company is in top shape. The Board of Governors agreed to support Ken if he needs to act on the board or executive committee's behalf in an urgent manner. The board approved, as amended, the Case for Giving, the 2014 budget, the SIGMA – The Fuel Foundation Cost Sharing Agreement and The Fuel Foundation Board Member Agreement. Assignments were made for contacting previous contributors. All The Fuel Foundation board dinners will now be billed back to participants not paid for out of The Fuel Foundation funds and board meeting will not have food or beverage.

The board brainstormed new board members from industry and non-industry that requires followup diligence. There was further discussion about validating with absent attendees their desire to stay on the board. Also discussed was that the Executive Committee for the next few years will make recommendations to the Nominating Committee. Each attendee was asked to provide the reason they are on the board. This was good information and created a lot of connectivity. The board broke into three groups and brainstormed fundraising actions. Lots of good information came out of this. One of the key ideas is to partner with universities that have energy programs. The Fuel Foundation could use corporate/supplier donations to The Fuel Foundation to fund a specific research project at a university with the outcome going first back to the original donor. Review Scholarship Program Fundraising discussion Assignments were made on follow-up calls for current donors $ 60,000 Ask others to donate $ 60,000 Soft ask at July meeting $ 20,000 Strong ask at November meeting $100,000 Ask new Foundation board members $ 20,000 Other $ 40,000 $300,000 Reviewed the 2012-2013 Year End and Year-To-Date Financial Statements The board discussed future additions to The Fuel Foundation board and potential nominees for 2015.
