Someone ate my cake!

 

 

Darn. It was my cake. I bought it. It was mine. It had my name on the plastic top. How much did they eat? What fraction? How should I best measure this? When I figure out who ate this I’m going to ask them to pay me back. The whole cake cost me $6.50. How much should they pay me back?

                             

Did you see the ridges at the bottom of the pan? How can they help you determine what fraction of my cake remains? Does using the ridges method change or support your original estimate?
