Step 1 — Battery
Take off the windshield from the top of the microphone and place aside. The bottom part of the microphone is detachable. In a clockwise motion, begin unscrewing the bottom of the microphone from its base.
Step 2
Pull off the bottom base of the microphone. The microphone should now be in two pieces. After the bottom base is removed, the battery should now be visible.

To remove the battery, push it upward into the aluminum spring. This will loosen and free the battery.
Step 4
Select a new, (AA) battery to insert into the microphone. Match the (+) and (-) sides of the battery to the matching symbols inside the microphone.

Reconnect the bottom and top base of the microphone by pushing them together.
Attach the bottom base by turning it counter-clockwise.

Place the windshield back onto the top of the microphone.
Step 8
Insert stereo jack of microphone into external device. Test the microphone. This should fix the problem, otherwise issues may exist elsewhere.
