The mission of the Sooner Sports Management Club is to enhance leadership skills while providing opportunities to gain experience and strengthen one’s personal network with exposure in the sport’s industry.
The Sooner Sports Management Club, founded in 2011, is a campus organization for students at The University of Oklahoma that are interested in a career in the sports industry. SSMC is a student club offered through the Price College of Business as a means to connect undergraduate students that were interested in going into the sports industry with professionals currently in the field. Guest speakers are often featured at SSMC meetings. Speakers include: OU Athletic Director Joe Castiglione, OKC Thunder officials, OKC Barons Senior Executive Vice President of Business Development John Allgood, and OU Football National Champion Spencer Tillman Page 1 of 2 >

Kelli Masters is former Miss Oklahoma 1997. She attended law school at Fellers Snider in Oklahoma City and has been practicing law in Oklahoma since 2000. She became partner at her law firm of Fellers, Snider, Blankenship, Bailey & Tippens, P.C., only the third woman since the 1960s. After a great deal of research and prayer, she decided to follow her dream. Kelli became a registered sports agent in 2004 and started working with Olympic athletes pursuing endorsements. Soon after, she became certified by the NFL Players Association and founded Kelli Masters Management in 2005. In 2013, Kelli received an award as one of the “Best Lawyers in America.” Kelli Masters Management successfully negotiates NFL players’ contracts and her management team takes care of the needs of athletes on and off the field. Let her story be an inspiration for you all to get in the game. Kelli Masters
She will be guest speaking at a special topic meeting hosted by the Sooner Sports Management Club. The event will take place Sept. 17, 2014 at 7 p.m. in The Chesapeake Energy Stadium Club located in the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Masters will address barriers women face in the sports industry and how they can overcome them and succeed. She will share her story and encourage women to blazing their own trails by joining clubs such as SSMC start

The Sooner Sports Management Club website focuses on providing key publics with information about the club, news updates, sports updates, and a calendar of events that features club meetings and athletic events taking place. The website is easy to navigate because of its simplistic layout. The goal of the website layout is to make it easy for users to find the information they are looking for quickly.
