South Central District Joseph A. Conte Recreational Tournament Playing Rules All CJSA and SCD playing rules will apply EXCEPT for the following: 1. U10 and U12 games will be 8 v 8 (7 players plus a keeper). U14 games will be 11 v 11. 2. The SCD head Registrar, or Vice President, Joe Conte, must certify all rosters. No Premier or Competition (Classic) player may be on the certified roster. Clubs entering more than one team may not switch players between rosters. 3. All U12 and U14 games will be 40 minutes with two twenty (20) minute halves. There will be a two (2) minute break between halves. U10 teams will play 36 minute games with two eighteen (18) minute halves. There will be a two (2) break between halves. 4. Substitutions will be without limit and may be made during any stoppage of play with the referee’s permission provided that those players entering the game are at midfield waiting to go in at the time the whistle is blown to stop play. Each player should play a minimum of 50% of the game. 5. The first team on the schedule for each game will be considered the home team for that game. Home teams will change their jerseys in case of a conflict or wear pennies. To start every game the home team will choose direction and the away team will start the game with possession. There will not be a coin toss to start the game. 6. There will be three referees for the U12 and U14 games and a single referee for U10 games. 7. A player receiving a red card is disqualified from his/her team’s next game. A player receiving a second red card is disqualified from the rest of the tournament. 8. Matches will start promptly as scheduled. Teams should warm-up for games on auxiliary areas of the tournament site so that they are ready to start play at the scheduled time. Games may begin earlier then scheduled if a field is available. A team failing to show for a game

ready to play at the start time forfeits the match and points (loss of 30). 9. Only two (2) coaches and the rostered players are allowed in the team’s bench area. 10. The Five-goal rule will be in effect for the tournament. 11. Points in the three games played will be awarded according to: Win = 3, Tie = 1, Loss = 0, Forfeit = 3. 12. Any team forfeiting a game will be ineligible to participate in the semi-finals and finals. Tie Breaking Procedure Flight winners are determined by the total points earned in the three games played (Win = 3, Tie = 1, Loss = 0). If a team plays 4 games the last (4th) game will not be used to calculate points/standings. If two or more teams are tied at the end of divisional play, the following procedure will be used to determine advancement: 1. Head to head competition (unless 3 or more teams are tied). 2. Most wins. 3. Goal differential (Up to 3 goals per game). 4. Goals against. 5. Number of shutouts. 6. If a winner cannot be determined the above tiebreakers; PKs will be used to break the tie. PKs will be under the supervision of the Referees’ Committee according to the “Taking of kicks from the penalty mark” procedures. Upon agreement of both coaches, the Referees’ Committee and the Tournament Committee, a coin toss may be substituted for PKs. Final and Semi-Final Competition 1. The U10 Divisions will have no play-offs. All teams will play 3 games. All U10 players will receive a participation t-shirt. At the conclusion of the team’s third game the coach of each team should come to the tournament staff area to receive the participation shirts for the team.

2. The U12 Girl’s Division and the U14 Boy’s will have two Semifinal games and a Championship game to determine the winner of the Division. The winner of each of the 2 Flights and the second place team based upon total points (Win = 3, Tie = 1, Loss = 0, Forfeit = 3) will advance to the semifinals. If needed, tie breakers will apply as described above. The first place team from Flight 1 will play the runner up in Flight 2 in one semi-final game and the first place team for Flight 2 will play the runner up from Flight 1 in the other semifinal game. A tie at the end of regulation in the Semifinal games will be broken by PKs. In the event of a tie in regulation play of the Championship game two additional 5-minute overtime periods will be played (not sudden death). If the game remains tied at the end of overtime the participants will be declared Co-Champions. At the conclusion of the championship game teams are asked to promptly gather at the concession stand for the awarding of “Champion” and “Runner-Up” shirts. 3. The U14 Girl’s Division and the U12 Boy’s will have two Semifinal games and a Championship game to determine the winner of the Division. The winner of each of the 3 Flights and the second place team (wildcard team) with the best record based upon total points (Win = 3, Tie = 1, Loss = 0, Forfeit = 3) will advance to the semifinals. If needed, tie breakers will apply as described above. The two first place teams with the best records will be the 1st and 2nd seeds. The remaining 1st place team will be the 3rd seed and the wildcard team will be the 4th seed. The 1st and 4th seeds will play in one semifinal and the 2nd and 3rd seeds will play in the other semifinal. A tie at the end of regulation in the Semifinal games will be broken by PKs. In the event of a tie in regulation play of the Championship game two additional 5-minute overtime periods will be played (not sudden death). If the game remains tied at the end of overtime the participants will be declared Co-Champions. At the conclusion of the championship game teams are asked to promptly gather at the concession stand for the awarding of “Champion” and “RunnerUp” shirts.
