Treasurer’s Report Highlights •
SlugFest, raised a record-breaking $26035 ($23106.11 profit). Many thanks to everyone's support!

Increased sponsorship fees by $100 to offset increase MLB uniform costs (31 paying sponsors, 4 service-in-kind, 1 paying & service-in-kind).
•
Reassessed All-Star fees by $50 to offset the additional cost for tournament registration, practice fields & uniforms.
•
Thanks to volunteer facilities crew for saving the league significant maintenance dollars as well as BOD members who worked to transition league website to overall lower cost website.

Parents Committee Highlights • Improved upon published FAQs by using parent survey responses • Hosted Indoor Opening Ceremony, Family Night, Duke SDLL Mother’s Day, Moe’s & PDQ league events • DSG coupon usage at Spring/Fall league shop day increased as well as equipment donated by DSG & additional shop day for All-Stars
Next Steps • Work to improve parent volunteer participation rates (concession stand, photo day, opening ceremonies, field clean-up, etc.) • Investigate establishing SDLL Spirit Wear Store

What’s New? • LLI mandating 1/1/2018 • Why? Looking for a wood-like performance standard • All new approved bats must display the USA baseball license mark (unless solid one-piece wood barrel bats – they do not require a USA baseball license mark), no other bats permitted for use • Bat details: ➢ No drop weight limits with the new bats ➢ Maximum length 33” ➢ Maximum diameter 2 5/8” ➢ Wood bat, not less than 15/16” in diameter (7/8” for bats less than 30”at its smallest part ➢ Wood bats taped or fitted w/sleeve may not exceed 16” from the small end).

• Herndon highest rating (3.9), Hope Valley Baptist & Sheppard lowest rating (2.1, only facilities below 3)
• Majority want concession stand open (Friday, Saturday, Tournament play most requested)
• Lowe’s Grove back-stop, cages poor condition & should not be used • Port-O-Pot availability, trash & fire ants most numerous complaints at DPS fields, SDLL Volunteer Big Sweep day suggested • Field maintenance overall improved, need to turn infields more often to improve play & reduce hazards • Pearsontown, Pineywood & Chapel Hill most suggested for additional fields

• Many respondents strongly against 5:30P start time unless for practices, though 87% of respondents in favor of a 5:30P/5:45P start for machine & t-ball practices & games • Double header Friday nights under the lights (Rookie or A & Majors) • Sunday afternoon, evening practices & games favored by 54.3% of respondents, especially for make-ups
• 95% of families commenting were pleased with their coach • Areas for improvement 1. Emphasize more positional rotations in the field and at the plate during regular season 2. Emphasize more pitching in practice to allow more kids to become game-ready pitchers 3. Improve sportsmanship - Balance competitiveness with proper actions/treatment of umpires and players on the field
