Dear Parent/Guardian
1 December 2014
I am pleased to be able to offer details of a trip to Paris, for pupils studying French as part of our Year 8 programme of international visits. The date of the visit is from the 6-10 July 2015. We are staying in a Youth Hostel on a full board basis. There will be a programme of activities, which will include sightseeing and cultural visits to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, a boat trip on the Seine, Monet’s Waterlilies and a day at the Parc Astérix theme park. There are a limited number of places available and will be on a first come first served basis. The cost per pupil is £450.00 which includes travel, accommodation, visits, all meals and insurance for personal accident. If you wish your child to participate in this trip, please return the slip below together with a non-refundable deposit of £50, if they are allocated a place. Cheques should be made payable to Sir Bernard Lovell School and returned to the Student Services office, in an envelope marked with the student’s name, tutor group and ‘Paris visit’ together with the slip below. Deposits must be received by Monday, 8 December. Balance payments are due by the dates indicated below. Internet payments will be offered to parents once the deposit has been received and your child’s place has been confirmed. If minimum payments are not made by the due date your place on the trip may be forfeited. (Please note that these are the deadlines for minimum payments to be made. You can of course pay larger amounts). If insufficient voluntary contributions have been received by the due date, the school reserves the right to cancel the trip. In case of cancellation/withdrawal from the trip, money will only be reimbursed if the circumstances are covered by the insurance policy or a replacement is found. However, the £50 deposit is non refundable. Parents should be aware that we reserve the right to remove any student from the trip should their behaviour in school become unacceptable in the interim. There will be an information evening in June for those students participating in the trips, when you will receive all necessary further information.
