15 November 2016 Dear parents and carers, Year 2 trip - Museum of London This term, we will be- learning about the Great Fire of London. This year marks the 350 anniversary of the fire, after which London was rebuilt. th

To celebrate this event, the Museum of London is holding workshops for school children and entry into the special th anniversary exhibition. We were lucky enough to have secured the last two places at a workshop on Friday 16 December. This will be a unique opportunity for the children to consolidate their learning and visit the exhibition, which is only open until April 2017. We will be travelling by public transport and have negotiated a special price for the tour and workshop, so the whole trip will cost £3.40 per child. Payment should be made by cash (in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and class on the front) or by cheque made payable to Southborough Primary School. Timings - AMUR LEOPARD Class will be meeting at PETTS WOOD STATION (Queensway entrance) at 9am on Friday 16th December and will be back at school by 3.30pm that afternoon. Children who attend Galaxy will be escorted to the station that morning and escorted back to Galaxy on their return. th

SNOW LEOPARD children will be meeting at school at the normal time on 16 December but will need to be collected from PETTS WOOD STATION (Queensway entrance) by 3.30pm. Children attending Galaxy after school club will be escorted back to school by staff members. It is very important that you make arrangements with other families within the class, so that all children can arrive on time and be collected on time at the end of the day. We are committed to catching certain trains and would hate for anyone to miss out. We’ll give further information closer to the time but please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff if you have any queries. Lunches - Please indicate your child’s preferred packed lunch choice on the slip provided. Uniform - Please ensure your child is wearing school uniform, sensible shoes and brings with them a warm, waterproof coat. Parent-helpers - As always, these trips are not possible without your help, so we would be most grateful for parent volunteers, to make up numbers in line with health and safety requirements. So, if you have been police-checked and are available, please indicate this on the reply slip. Many thanks for supporting your child’s learning.
