A Community Making Disciples, Unleashing Compassion
Southridge Community Church Code of Christian Conduct At Southridge Bible Camp we are on mission to share the Gospel with children and youth, as well as disciple believers for living and serving through Southridge Community Church. Our policies and expectations are built on principles taken from Scripture, which should be guiding our faith, actions and organization. We ask that all volunteers (or paid staff) believe and follow both our statement of faith (as signed in our Plan to Protect) and our code of Christian conduct. Code of Christian Conduct: Southridge Community Church is a community of people united by Jesus and our common Christian faith. Because volunteers (and paid staff) serve as highly visible role models and servant leaders within our church, communities, schools etc they are representatives of our shared faith in Jesus Christ in every aspect of their lives and personal ministries. We require that you as a volunteer join in a commitment to believing and living out the Christian faith according to New Testament Biblical standards, in a manner that is consistent with the faith you believe and represent. Consistent with the Christian beliefs of Southridge Community Church, and Southridge Bible Camp I agree---1. Strive to establish spiritual disciplines needed to maintain and promote a deep, intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ. 2. To consistently attend a local church whose beliefs are consistent with Southridge Community Church’s statement of Faith. 3. To maintain healthy relationships with family and friends 4. To express commitment to the mission of Southridge Community Church (and by extension Southridge Bible Camp) through how I honour and serve – with love, dignity, and respect without reservation or discrimination. 5. To abstain from – and not encourage – behaviour contrary to biblical principles, including but not limit to: a) The use and possession of illicit or non-prescription intoxicating drugs b) The abuse of alcohol c) Reading or viewing pornographic material d) Sexual intimacy outside of the sacred bond of marriage between one man and one women e) Harassment, physical aggression, sexual assault or other abusive behaviour f) Criminal activity
I have read and agree with Southridge Community Church’s Code of Christian Conduct. I acknowledge that failure to adhere to this Christian Conduct is grounds for Southridge’s Leadership to go to the source and possible dismissal.
