Spec Towns Invitational April 5-6, 2019 Teams: Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, UCONN, Arkansas State, Virginia Tech, Dartmouth Location: Spec Towns Track 1 Selig Cir, Athens, GA 30602 General Information The meet is a full-team invitational meet to honor former Georgia Head Coach, Forrest “Spec” Towns. Towns was the 1936 Olympic Champion and World-record holder in the 110 Hurdles. We want the meet to provide top quality competition for the competitors. Entry Information Entries are to be done online beginning Monday March 11, 2019 at www.directathletics.com. Entry deadline is Monday April 1, 2019 at 12:00pm. Team entry fee is $450 per gender. Colleges and Universities may make checks payable to: THE UNIVERISTY OF GEORGIA ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (UGAA). Fees will be based on athletes entered not athletes who show up to compete. Team entry fees will be collected April 5, 2019. Individual entry fee is $30 per person. Unattached athletes must email meet director at [email protected] . Packet Pick Up Friday, April 5th at the entry gate to the track. Entry fees can be paid here. Bus Drop Off/Team & Spectator Parking Team buses can drop off at the Smith Street entrance. Bus parking is limited and we recommend that buses return to the hotel. Team vans and spectators can park in the Carlton Street Parking Deck. Parking fees are $10/day and are not the responsibility of UGAA or UGA Track and Field. All UGA Lots are open on Saturday (no fee). Medical The training room will be available for the duration of the meet. Athletic Trainers please contact Eric Prince, ATC [email protected] or 337-224-2092 to make arrangements for treatment. Track Information Weigh-ins will take place under the grandstands and will be announced. Any implements that do not meet specifications will be impounded until completion of competition. All warm-ups must take place outside the track area on the artificial turf. Starting blocks will be furnished. Tents are available from Barron’s Rental 706-543-3486. All tents must be anchored by water barrels.
