What does it mean to DARE2DREAM?
I Want to be on The Dare2Dream Team!
A dream is not only something that occurs in our sleep, but it is also contemplating the possibility of doing something that is often
considered unattainable. Most dreams never manifest because they seem too big or well beyond our current circumstances. As result, many of us have stopped dreaming all together. Not today. In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., we will dream again and dream big.
Please complete and submit your form in the Narthex or mail it
to the Church. 1 form per person/household. (Please feel free
to reproduce this form.)

Dare2Dream is our first annual sacrificial giving to help ignite the passion in all of us to dream big. This is an opportunity to see dreams come to fruition. God has given all of us dreams and visions. In fact, these dreams and visions helped to guide each of us to Shiloh. Now, God intends for us to be part of a bigger dream and
vision; bigger than ourselves. Big dreams and big visions require big faith and big funding.

To join the Dare2Dream Team, we are asking for your commitment to give a sacrificial gift in addition to your current tithes and offerings to support and advance “Dare2Dream.” If you do not tithe, we pray that your participation will consist of committing to tithing.

Email God is working here in a unique way to reach our community and beyond. This is a defining moment in our history; therefore, prayerfully, I will commit as a Dare2Dream Team member, in faith, the following amount in addition to my regular giving:
The goal is for 100 individuals or households, every year, to
commit to giving over and beyond their tithe and offering for the next five years towards this Dare2Dream sacrificial offering campaign. The amount is $100 per month. Each may decide to give $25 weekly, $50 bi-weekly, $100 monthly, or $1200 once a year. Our children, can participate by giving $10 a month, or $1 a week. The goal is to
encourage 100 Dare2Dreamers each year until we have added 100 people/households committed to giving sacrificially every year until 2021 or beyond. As a Dare2Dream Team member, your financial support will enable us to see dreams come to fruition.
I will commit to sacrificially give (Check One): (Youth/Teens) ___$1 weekly ___ $10 Monthly $____ $25 Weekly $50 Bi-Weekly $100 Monthly
Not A Tither? Join by Tithing First. We encourage those who are not tithers to first learn the blessing of tithing. By taking money that God intended for you to give as a tithe and give to this campaign will only weaken the church budget. It will take a strong church budget along with giving over and beyond your tithe to accomplish our goals. So, if you have yet to do so on a monthly basis, please seek God in tithing first.
$600 Bi-Annually $1200 Annually

Date
When Should We Give? Best time to start giving is Sunday, January 31, 2016. Fill out and submit your commitment forms and begin the dream journey.
A special sacrificial envelop will be provided on Sundays. To use one check, please use the white SBC envelope for your tithe and offering with amount indicated on the outside, and then place the Dare2Dream
envelop inside it with the amount indicated on it. You do not have to wait for Sundays to give. All sacrificial givers may also give through the church’s online-giving and app program.
The Dare2Dream Special Offering is a call to sacrificial giving with a goal of $500k-$600k over the next five years.
How Did We Arrive at $500k-$600k Goal? Pastor prayerfully set the goal by calculating the number of persons
committed per year. The objective is commit 100 persons per year to give $100 a month. In three years, we could have approximately 300 people committed, which has the potential of accomplishing this goal. This is a God-sized goal that can only be done through God. If God sends 100% participation, sacrificial giving, and prayer, then it can be done. Since we are expecting God to bless this Special Offering, any amount over and above our goal will be used for debt reduction,
expansion, investing or future vision initiatives.
How Will We Know if We Reach Our Goal? You will be updated on our giving progress each quarter during our Sunday services, emails, or letters. Reaching this goal and seeing dreams for Shiloh come to fruition will be a celebration of what we can do together as we stretch our faith under God’s leadership. If you have any questions or you wish to join the Dare2Dream
Executive Team, please call the main office at 703-893-8982.
The Purpose of This
Sacrificial Offering For the Individual:
To become a generous and cheerful giver who will experience the joy of
excelling in their giving. For the Church:
To eliminate our current debt on our
facility which will give the church
freedom to provide greater ministry and outreach opportunities, to expand our parking, to increase our classroom space, to create an education/computer learning center, to provide our seniors with a gathering space, to build a safe playground area for our children, to provide temporary housing for
homeless Veterans with children, to build homes for those in need in the Dominican Republic, and to produce a stream of resources for now and future expansion. For the Kingdom of God:
To build a larger number of generous and cheerful givers that may use their God given resources as God directs.
Prayer
How Can I Become A More Cheerful Giver?
Praying is essential to everything we do as Christians. It is important to the life the church. Prayer is where we find our
guidance and strength. Prayer is what helps to ignite our faith.
We can learn to be a cheerful giver by studying the greatest giver this world has ever known: Jesus the Christ. Leaving behind the riches and glory of His heavenly kingdom, He came to earth and willingly gave His life so that we could keep ours. As God predestined His
children to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, there can no
better way to emulate Jesus the Christ than by giving selflessly the way He did. Our Savior Himself told us, “it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). No, we are not expected to give of ourselves by dying on the cross. But our greatest motivation for cheerful and generous giving should be that it pleases the Lord and reflects His gift of salvation to us.
Please pray for God’s presence and provision as we all seek to give sacrificially. We solicit everyones prayers. Participate by praying and pray as you participate.
The Dream Box During this journey, a Dream Box will be placed in the Sanctuary at the altar for you to insert your personal dreams. We encourage each person who gives to Dare2Dream to pray not only for the church’s ministry opportunities, but for all dreams given to Shiloh members by God. All dreams collected in the box will be prayed for. Who knows, your personal dreams may be the next dream manifested for Shiloh.
For Youth & Teens The Bible encourages us to be givers. And the awesome part about being a giver is that God rewards those who give. So when you give, you’re not throwing away your time, money or anything else. God wants to reward you for your giving. The principle of giving, found in the Word of God, is something that works. Not only is your Pastor a witness, but he has seen many
people get blessed when they plugged into the principles of giving. Beginning to give as a youth or teenager can set into motion great blessings that will set you up to be blessed throughout your lifetime. Here are three quick truths on giving to hold close to your heart.
1.) Giving is not limited to money. If you don’t have money, don’t feel bad. There are other ways to grow the giving habit. One major way is with your time. Join a ministry, attend Sunday Bible class. Give your time. 2.) Giving should be a daily goal. Start building the habit in giving to others today. Don’t wait for someday to build wealth to give. No, use what you have today to bless others now. 3.) Giving will bring great reward in your life. When you get into the habit of giving you will find God giving you more so you can continue to give to more.
The second letter of Corinthians reveals a number of inspiring truths that should help us become more cheerful givers. As Paul wisely
admonished the Corinthians, “Remember this: Whoever sows
sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously” (2 Corinthians 9:6). Christ Himself told us, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap” (Luke 6:38). Indeed, “Good will come to him who is generous” (Psalm 112:5). Also Paul states, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). Cheerful giving, therefore, should be a way of life for the Christian who understands the grace of God. When we give generously and with a willing heart, God assures us He will watch over us and provide for us (2 Corinthians 9:8). Giving generously is not just about our treasures that we are to cheerfully give back to God. He deserves our talents and our time as well. Truth is, we cannot out-give our gracious Creator. However, the more we give in service to the Lord the more we will get in return. In fact, the only place in the Bible where God invites us to test Him is Malachi 3:10 where He is talking about our offerings made to Him: “Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty and see if I will not throw open the
floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” For God so loved the world that He gave. We would do well to
remember that we are saved because our God so generously gave (John 3:16). Since God gave His best, let us trust and honor God by generously giving our best through our time, talents and treasure.
