What are speed sounds?sounds order Read Write Inc Speed Set 1 sounds are one individual letters making one sound. Set 2 sounds are 2 or 3 letters that make one sound. It is important that your child reads one sound for these letters instead of sounding out each individual letter. Set 3 sounds teaches the children that there are different spelling choices for the same sound e.g. ee as in tree and ea as in tea. They will focus on learning to read these in Year 1 and progress to focusing on making the correct spelling choices in Year 2.
