Instructions to complete “Spike and Fade” necklace: Tip The letters A – D designate the beads used in the pattern. Please refer to the materials list above for the key. Step 1 Cut eight 6-foot lengths of cord. Step 2 Arrange the cords on the braiding disk as shown in the Kumihimo – Simple 8-Warp Braid with Beads Technique. Step 3 String these beads in the following sequence onto each cord: 30 – A 30 – B 10 – C 40 – D 10 – C 30 – B 30 – A Step 4 Braid a 17-inch length of kumihimo cord. Step 5 Using an 8-inch length of wire, attach one end of the braided cord to one cord end (see Kumihimo Clasp – Option 1 Technique). Step 6 Add one C bead to the wire and wire wrap one end of the toggle clasp (see Wire Wrapping Technique). Step 7 Repeat Step 5-6 on the other end of the braided cord.
