HAITI SCHOOL FUNDRAISER: HOLLYWOOD EDITION

Dear Frederick Community Members, On May 11th, we will host the third annual Grace’s Got Talent event showcasing the best talent from our church community and beyond! This event has grown over the past two years, attracting nearly 300 attendees for an evening filled with dancing, laughing, and celebrating our God-given gifts and abilities. Not only is this a fun-filled evening for our local community, but it’s impact reaches to the rural Belladere region of Haiti. Grace Community Church has partnered for over 7 years with Food for the Hungry to benefit the local citizens. Our partnership began with a focus on sponsoring the children of Belladere to ensure their education and nutrition. As our partnership grew, we supported local farmers as they began a now thriving coffee association giving them long-lasting financial stability for their families. Now, Grace Community Church has heard from the local community that their greatest need is a school. Currently, there are several small schools in Belladere that each educate over 60 students in a crumbling room that would barely suit 10 US students. These poor conditions severely impact the children’s ability to receive an education. Because lack of education is a leading factor for economic poverty in Haiti, we want to do our part to ensure a better future for these children. Therefore, Grace Community Church has committed to build a 9-room school and supply it with necessary educational materials. The full cost of this project is $100,000. We are thrilled to announce that we have already raised more than $70,000 and construction on the school building has already begun. We invite you to be a part of finishing this project. Together, we will raise important funds through the Grace’s Got Talent event to fund resources for the school and training for local teachers.
