Spotlight Recyclables wk 2 Plastics
April 5, 2013 A message from the Wyckoff Township Committee, Wyckoff Environmental Committee, and the Wyckoff Green Team.
Have you heard the exciting news?
The Wyckoff Green Team will be rolling out a NEW weekly “Spotlight our Recyclables” initiative as part of the township’s Nifty Fifty Program. Each week we will highlight a different category of recyclables to help educate and inform residents.
Week #2 - PLASTICS; Rigid and Films Rigid Plastics # 1-7 (plastic water, soda, juice, milk bottles, yogurt and juice cups, bottle caps,
plastic forks/knives/spoons, plastic food containers). Any plastic with the #’s 1-7 stamped on the bottom.

All food matter MUST be removed, PLEASE rinse all containers.
Plastic Films (polyethylene) most are labeled with a #2 and #4 (newspaper, bread, dry cleaning, plastic wrap around toilet paper and paper towels, grocery bags (#1-7), T-shirt bags, bags sealed with air for packaging ie. air cushion or bubble wrap).
Wyckoff’s current recycling rate is 29% our goal is 50% To HELP us reach our recycling goal PLEASE recycle 100% of these highlighted items, in addition to your weekly recyclables, this week and going forward. Let’s all concentrate on these items! Together we can reach our recycling goal and reduce waste, save money and keep our community litter free! Recycle today!
