Starting Tuesday, Jan. 12: Tuesday, Jan. 12: 9:15 a.m.-2:15 p.m. and 3-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19: 9:15 a.m.-2:15 p.m. and 3-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26: 9:15 a.m.-2:15 p.m. and 3-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Beginning in February and continuing for the remainder of the semester, hours will be: Tuesdays, 3-8 p.m. Thursdays, 9:15 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Fridays, 9-2 p.m.
- ALL APPOINTMENTS TAKE PLACE IN COWAN 202 - APPOINTMENTS FOR IN-PERSON TUTORING CAN BE MADE BY SIGNING UP OUTSIDE COWAN 202. - APPOINTMENTS ARE FOR 20-MINUTE SESSIONS - PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP FOR ONE APPOINTMENT PER DAY UNLESS YOU RECEIVE PRIOR PERMISSION FROM THE WRITING TUTOR - WE CAN REVIEW MORE WRITING IF YOU BRING A HARD COPY (PRINTED) OF THE ASSIGNMENT YOU ARE WORKING ON - A MAXIMUM OF 4-5 DOUBLE-SPACED PAGES CAN GENERALLY BE REVIEWED DURING AN APPOINTMENT

What Does a Writing Tutor Do? A Writing Tutor works one-on-one with a student to assist him/her with a writing assignment (s). The Writing Tutor can help a student at any stage in his/her writing project (coming up with ideas, planning an essay or other writing assignment, working on incorporation of sources into writing, revision, etc.). The Writing Tutor will assist students in recognizing writing strengths and weaknesses and suggest strategies to help students improve their writing. What A Writing Tutor Doesn’t Do… A Writing Tutor does NOT “fix” or “revise” a writing assignment for the student. Instead the Tutor works with the student to identify areas of weakness and consider how the student might improve his/her writing project. A Writing Tutor does NOT comment on the content of a writing project, or try to anticipate a professor’s response. What Kinds of Assignments Can Writing Tutors Help Students With? Business Reports, History Papers, Sociology Essays, Literature Reviews, Lab Reports, etc. Writing Tutors can assist students with
writing in any subject area! Additionally, Writing Tutors can provide resources to students and/or classes. By appointment, we can also come to classes and give introductory presentations on citation formats or organizing writing projects.
