Sportsmanship Sportsmanship is a top priority of the Intramural Sports program at the University of Kansas. Contest participants or spectators who choose to follow unsportsmanlike practices before, during, or after a contest, whether directed towards staff, an official, an opponent, or a spectator may be ejected from that contest. The contest official(s), Intramural Sports Supervisor, or a Recreation Services Staff member may administer the ejection at any point before, during, or after the contest. Players, coaches, or spectators ejected from any Intramural Sports contest for any reason must leave the playing facility immediately after providing their contact information, and are barred from all Intramural Sports activities until officially reinstated by the Assistant Director for Intramural Sports. Furthermore, the ejected person will immediately have their Recreation Services membership suspended and they must meet with the Assistant Director for Intramural Sports, or designee, prior to having their Recreation Services Membership reactivated. More information on Sportsmanship, including the detailed rating system, can be found in the Intramural Sports Policies and Procedures.

Forfeits/Defaults Teams forfeiting games will be charged a Forfeit Fine. This fine will be charged to the team captain, and they will be ineligible to compete in any Intramural Sports event until this fine is paid.

If your team is unable to make a scheduled game, consider submitting an Intramural Sports Reschedule Request Form. Still can’t make a scheduled game? Avoid being charged a Forfeit Fine by submitting an Intramural Sports Default Form by the established deadline.

Play-By-Date Format This event will be administered as a Play-By-Date format. This means, beginning on the first day of the tournament, you are responsible for getting in contact with your opponents to schedule your match at a time that is mutually agreed upon. Contact information may be found on IMLeagues.com. Please note that the date and time that will be listed on the bracket for your contest is the deadline to have played and have submitted the results to our office. It is the winning team’s responsibility to submit the score from the contest to the Intramural Sports Office via email ([email protected]) by the date and time listed. Failure to submit a match result may result in both teams being removed from the tournament. After all matches have been reported from each round, the bracket will advance and the winning team will be given a new opponent.
