Taken from the current edition of the SAYS By-Laws: ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP Section 1: Adult Members. Any adult parent or legal guardian of a participating Spring Area Youth Softball League player is eligible for membership in the Spring Area Youth Softball League. Section 3: Voting Membership. Each family of a League member who is participating in the Spring Season is entitled to one vote for the purpose of electing the League’s Board of Directors. ARTICLE IV – OFFICERS Section 1. Officers and Duties. The officers of the League shall be President, Vice President of Administration, Vice President of Athletics, Secretary, Treasurer and ten (10) Directors. These officers shall perform the duties prescribed in these bylaws and by the parliamentary authority adopted by the League. Section 2. Term of Office. Officers shall be elected for a term of one year, or until their successors are elected. The term of office shall begin at the July meeting. Section 5. Removal from Office. Any officer absent from the regular meetings, incapacitated or unable to perform their duties for a continuous period of three (3) months, or absent from a total of four (4) meetings during the current term of office automatically relinquishes their position on the Board. ARTICLE V – NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS OF OFFICERS Section 1: Nominations. Any parent or legal guardian of a player participating in the Spring Season may fill out a Board of Director Candidate Form and submit it to the Secretary no later than the posted deadline. Persons may request to be on the ballot whom do not have children playing in the league, but whom wish to contribute by helping the league, by a majority vote of the officers. The Secretary and Treasurer will verify if the candidate is eligible for the office they are seeking. The Secretary will create the ballots and have them at the Spring Season Awards Ceremony. Section 2: Election of Officers. Election of Board of Directors shall be by ballot at the Spring Season Awards Ceremony. A majority vote shall elect. The election shall be supervised by the League Secretary and a Tellers’ Committee appointed by the President in advance of the Spring Season Awards Ceremony.

**General duties of board members require attendance of monthly board meetings, attendance and participation of league events and additional events that the board of directors hosts. Members are expected to volunteer additional time throughout the season to monitor games and work in the concession. Thank you for your consideration in being part of the SAYS Board of Directors.
