Pam Buda’s Block of the Month A Prairie Gathering With Jan Ragaller Pam Buda's ongoing passion for Prairie brings us a wonderful blend of traditional deep red and beige prints that she incorporates into a gorgeous medallion quilt design. Together the fabrics and quilt pay a year-long tribute to the women who used needle & thread to affect change. Join us starting January 15 for the start of this beautiful project! Pick up or mail out each month after the 15th This is a 12 month program BOM Cost: $28/month

2015 Mystery Quilt Inspector “Klu-Sew” has a new Mystery Quilt by Debbie Caffrey, a 6 month series starting in January. Each step will have cutting and piecing instructions. Construction of this quilt requires basic rotary cutting and machine piecing skills. “Clues” will be for PICK-UP at QGS only! NO MAIL OUTS!! Cutting & piecing instructions will be available on the 1st of each month. You must pick up your “clues” each month! Once the month is past, those instructions will not be available! COST: Fabric purchase (for Mystery Quilt) of approximately 10 yards is required. Pattern in free! You will get a 15% discount on your purchase!

Quilt ‘til You Wilt! Quilt ‘til You Wilt! continues as a popular “sew-cial” and productive time, so plan to join us on the 1st Thursday of each month to sew on a project of your choice! Most of us have UFO’s that we need a little prompting to get done. This is the time! You can come and sew for an hour or for the whole day! Polly will be sewing with you and is willing to help, if needed! Dates: February 5, March 5, & April 2 Time: 10 AM to 5 PM Fee: No fee, but please call & let us know you will be joining us

Crazy Club! This club continues to meet the 2nd and now adds the 4th Wednesday of the Month. This club is an open self-directed club at no cost, whose goal is to assist each member to learn and grow in their skills of stitching, embroidery, embellishing and appliqué. It is OPEN to anyone interested! You bring your own project and supplies. We will have a Shop staff member present to assist with your needs. Lucy Boston Club We have become fascinated with the beauty of Lucy Boston’s Patchwork of the Cross! There are multiple ways to create these blocks but we ae creating them using the English Paper Piecing technique. The magic of the Lucy Boston designs is in the creative use of fabric. We feel challenged to create these beautiful blocks!!! So we are starting a Lucy Boston Stitching Group. This is an open, self-directed club for anyone interested in exploring this quilt design/technique and it’s FREE. We will have a Shop staff member present to assist with your needs. Beginning Quilting

For those of you who have basic sewing knowledge and have always wanted to make a quilt, the time has arrived! In this class we will teach and guide you as you begin your quilting journey! This 6 session course will introduce you to quilting, with a focus on choosing fabric, proper tools, seam allowances, cutting, thread, etc. Basic knowledge of your sewing machine is a prerequisite. T-Shirt Quilt Bring your t-shirts and supplies for a fun and informative time, learning the basics of making a t-shirt quilt! In this class, you will learn about cutting and stabilizing your t-shirts. You will also learn how to fit your t-shirts into a pleasing layout. We’ll discuss concept, fabric selection, measuring, cutting, piecing, and finishing. By the end of class, you will have completed your t-shirt quilt top! Winter One Day Bus Shop Hop It’s our One Day Winter Quilt Bus Shop Hop! Saturday February 7, 2015 Ride in comfort on a chartered bus and leave the driving to us! Bus trip includes: transportation, lunch, and snacks all for only $59.00. You will love visiting these wonderful shops, all with a different flair. The participating Shops are: Loose Threads, Milton, WI Piece by Piece, Appleton, WI Buttons & Bolts, Salem, WI Quilter’s General Store, IL We will depart at 7 am and return at about 6:30 pm.

Kim Diehl’s Simple Whatnots Club, Collection 2 Kim Diehl’s Simple Whatnots Club, Collection 2, will begin in February 2015. The club projects feature exclusive Kim Diehl designs using her new fabric line Heritage Hollow. This collection of designs features “doable” little quilts (nothing greater in size than 40” square) with traditional patchwork and a sprinkling of simple appliqué here and there. This Club continues through August 2015. Dates: 4th Tuesday OR 4th Saturday each Month Time: 1 pm to 3 pm Class Fee: $45 Plus Fabric Kit each Month Instructor: Ruth Whitney Skill Level: All Skill Levels

Hand Quilting Learn the beautiful and special art of hand quilting! It’s a pastime of our ancestors that shouldn’t be lost. At class, you will learn which materials and tools work best and most comfortably for you to complete your hand quilted project. We will discuss how to choose quilting designs and how to mark your project. You will learn how to baste projects. You will also learn how and when to use the different quilting stitches to achieve the desired effect. At class, you will baste and quilt two muslin square sandwiches. You will also receive a kit to take home, piece, and bring back to the second session. At the second session, you will mark and hand quilt your pieced project. Machine Quilting Introduction to Free Motion machine quilting with your sewing machine. This class is for the quilter who is new to machine quilting or is confident with some things and would like a little guidance! With Kristin’s individualized attention to each student, this class is for everyone from beginner to those who want to brush up or refine their machine quilting skills. Learn about threads, needles, batting and so much more. Stop in the shop to see some of Kristin’s samples and then sign up to join her in this 2-session class! Border Challenge Quilt With Jan Ragaller If you have heard about the Border Challenge and the wonderful quilts that are produced, this is your chance to discover what it’s all about. Please join Jan for a free informational meeting and see what all of the hubbub is about! International Quilt Festival, Rosemont, IL Join us on our One Day Bus Trip to the International Quilt Festival at Rosemont, IL, on Friday March 27. Enjoy the always beautiful Quilt Displays & Shop with hundreds of Quilt merchants! Cost of $42 includes bus, snacks, admission & program to IQF. Payment due at time of registration.

Debbie Maddy’s Rippling Star

Learn to make the old style 45-degree diamond quilts using only HALF SQUARE TRIANGLE units! They are truly simple to master and are fast and easy for beginners to accomplish, yet also appeals to experienced quilters who can achieve beautiful results in a short time frame. Jo Morton’s Little Women Club 14

Continuing in our tradition of loving Jo Morton Patterns & Fabrics we will have her Little Women’s Club 14 starting in April! We will utilize her beautiful fabrics in 8 new projects exclusively offered in her Club 14! This Club continues through November 2015. Existing QGS Clubs & Block of the Month! These are Clubs & Block of the Month projects already in process. Note each of the completion dates, because we typically start a new one in its place! So watch for more information on our Clubs/BOMs.

Saturday Sampler #1 - Tonga Nature This 96” x 106” Quilt is a Block of the Month by Wing & Prayer Design continues through November. This is a large quilt with blocks ranging from 9 ½” unfinished to the center block measuring 24 ½”. Each month there will be demonstrations on how to piece each block and of course we will have show-n-tell of your progress on this beautiful quilt. Class meets every month, 3rd Saturday (unless specified) through November at 10 am.

Saturday Sampler #2 - Cobblestone Way This 7 month class will create 6 rows of unique blocks with some appliqué (or not) in the center of row three. The blocks are 6 ½” unfinished and you have an option for borders, no borders or appliqué borders. The class sample measures 56” x 72” with borders. Class meets every month, 3rd Saturday (unless specified) through June at 11 am.

Class Cancellations Every class we offer has a minimum number of students required to hold the class. When that minimum is not met, the class will be cancelled. We do cancel our classes two weeks prior to the actual class date when that minimum is not met. At that time, the full class fee is refunded. If you need to withdraw from a class you have signed up for, you must notify us at least two weeks prior to the class date in order to receive a refund. Thank you!
