Spring Valley Lake Little League9 Welcome to Spring Valley Lake (SVL) Little League. All SVL Little League participants (volunteers, parents, coaches and players) will follow the guidelines of the SVLLL Code of Conduct and our Zero Tolerance Policy. Participation in the SVLLL program requires the following: Player Responsibilities:
Be on time for practices and games. Arrive in full uniform, with shirt tucked in, for every game 3 Support Your Team- Be a team player, encourage your teammates and be a positive influence on the field and in the dugout Listen to, and respect, your coaches, teammates, opponents, umpires, and parents Never argue with an umpire’s or coach’s decision. If you have a concern/ issue address it with your team manager after the or practice Negative language, violent behavior, and fighting are never allowed. If there is a problem, tell your coach Do not abuse equipment, whether it’s yours, your teammate’s, or the league’s Keep the dugouts and fields clean during practices and/or games
Parent Responsibilities:
Ensure your player understands the rules and responsibilities of being a player in AVLL & help them meet that obligation Exhibit a positive, supportive presence at all practices and games. Never engage the umpire, players, parents, opposing coaches or managers in any unsportsmanlike behavior on the fields, in parking lots or other AVLL participating sites Profanity, negative language, violent behavior and/or fighting are never allowed. If there is a problem follow the rules of escalation No use (or being under the influence) of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
The Board of Directors of Spring Valley Lake Little League has adopted a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY regarding behavior that is inconsistent with the Little League philosophy. Everyone involved with Spring Valley Lake Little League (board members, managers, coaches, players, parents, extended family, friends, spectators, and volunteers) is expected to model behaviors that display the Little League virtues of character, courage, and loyalty, by showing good judgment and mutual respect. This policy will encompass all interactions during the course of little league sponsored events, which shall include but not be limited to: Opening Day, Practices, Pre-Season, Regular Season, and Post-Season Games, and other league activities. This policy encompasses a wide range of actions or verbiage directed from one person to another, or a group of people, including but not limited to:
Disputing or arguing decisions by Umpires, Managers, Coaches, Players, and/or Volunteers or interfering with Board Members, Managers, Coaches, Umpires, Players, Volunteers, Parents, and Spectators Use of negative, obscene, vulgar, or profane language at any time, even if it is not directed at a particular person Taunting, baiting, or ridiculing Umpires, Managers, Coaches, Players, and/or Volunteers Behaviors that may endanger the health, safety, or welfare of yourself, another person(s), or the program (i.e.: throwing objects at another or onto the field, threatening physical harm or actual physical violence, etc.)
Consequences –Player:
1st Offense-Player/parent, manager, coach, or other involved –meeting with Director of Division-Counsel Warning Issued 2nd Offense- Player/parent, manager, coach, or other involved –meeting with Director of Division-Counsel – suspension from next game 3rd Offense: Player/parent, manager, coach, or other involved –meeting with Director of Division and/or BoardCounsel, full suspension and made ineligible for post season play.
Consequences-Adult :( Board Member, Coach, Manager, Parent, Umpire, Volunteer, etc.)
Warning and/or expulsion from participation depending on nature of offense
Local authorities will be contacted for any threat of physical harm or actual physical violence against others, children or adults, which may lead to arrest and/or prosecution.
