In order to succeed with this development it is crucial we have substantial funds upfront. Therefore we intend to copy the approach that many other GAA clubs and sporting organisations have successfully taken to complete similar projects i.e. A Bond Scheme. The estimated cost of this project is €500,000.
What is a bond? A bond is a loan to St Finian’s GAA Club. This loan will be repaid to the bond holders after the project is completed. There will be a legal agreement signed by St Finian’s GAA Club to ensure bond holders are guaranteed repayment of their bond. In effect, if you purchase a bond you are giving St Finian’s GAA Club an interest free loan.

in partnership with Loreto College Swords
St Finian’s GAA Club will sell bonds as a way of raising the finance for this project. We need people (club members, parents of children attending Loreto School, members of the community etc) to buy these bonds.

How can you buy a bond? Bonds are valued at €1,000 and and can be paid by cash up front or over a period suitable to you, up to a maximum of 24 months. This is the equivalent of less than €10 a week. If you are interested in assisting with this very valuable project which will have such a positive impact on our community as a whole then please contact us.

Future Development
Founded in 1983 with one adult and two juvenile teams St Finian’s GAA Club has grown steadily through its 32 year history to the point now where we are fielding over 40 teams every week covering football, hurling, ladies football and camogie for all ages from nursery to adult.
Over the years St Finian’s has relied on facilities leased from the Fingal County Council, namely the pitches in River Valley itself and more recently pitches in Ridgewood. As the club has grown the pressure on these facilities has grown. In particular the need for an all weather training facility has become apparent as teams are forced to rent locations outside the catchment area over the winter months to train under lights and on reliable ground.
We also have a thriving nursery and academy section which is charged with introducing our children to the games from the age of 4 to 7. From our initial focus on River Valley and Rathingle, St Finian’s now caters for the residents of newer developments of Boroimhe, Ridgewood and Holywell. Through this time the club has always been conscious of providing the best facilities that it can to its members and this has resulted in the development of our clubhouse providing top class dressing room and activity room facilities.
To release the pressure on our existing facilities the club have negotiated the development of the hockey pitch in Loreto College into a state of the art, fully floodlit all weather training facility which will allow our players and members to train all year round in the locality on a top class all weather pitch.
