Senior Warden’s Reflections Dear Members: One in Mission—with minds to think, hearts to love and hands to serve. That was the theme of the 95th Annual Diocesan Council, and, as delegates learned, the way Bishop Bourlakas prayerfully begins every sermon, and as seminarians eloquently spoke about and prayed over, following each Council business session. We will hear this theme often now, as what was referred to in its formative months as the Resolution 8: Sustainability Report is now put into effect as our Diocese’s Mission Action Plan, or MAP. Bishop Bourlakas is encouraging members of all congregations to push themselves and ponder mission in new ways, just as our Diocese is doing and as the Episcopal Church is doing as a whole. A great start for our Diocese is the appointment of our first Canon Missioner, the Rev. Mark Furlow. Rev. Furlow has already been in contact with me to offer assistance to St. Peter’s, regarding our desire for a priest. As you may remember, he has had some prior contact with our parish, and looks forward to working with us. In addition to hiring a Canon Missioner, the Diocesan Executive Committee is being restructured into 4 mission work groups; a pastoral response team is being developed; efforts are underway to improve Phoebe Needles to better accommodate diocesan and parish trainings; and new communication methods have been initiated to speed and improve information sharing. All are exciting initiatives and we’ll hear more and be encouraged to participate as the MAP continues to unfold. I am grateful for the chance to serve as a delegate from St. Peter’s this year. I look forward to St. Peter’s being a part of and benefiting from the MAP, and to our year, as we begin to work with the Canon Missioner and Bishop on our mission and community at St. Peter’s.
! Peace and Love, Jo

Junior Warden Committee I would like to thank everyone for given me the opportunity to serve as Junior Warden. A lot of work will be done this year to improve the look and function of the Parish. We have formed a Junior Warden Committee which consists of Ben Whittier, Charles Eubanks, Aubrey Rosser and Don Parry . I would like to thank all the members of the Junior Warden Committee for willing to help. A Junior Warden Committee listing is posted on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall. I look forward to working with everyone in the Parish. Kevin Johnson
! Epiphany Celebration !
Epiphany Eve was celebrated at the home of Jan and Don Parry. Jan made chili and chocolate fondue (with fruit to dip), the Carters brought corn bread and the Greens brought pimentocheese sandwiches (without crusts, made by Molly). We had mulled cider and wine. Laura and Kevin, Linda and Charles and Aubrey also came. We had Compline about 7 and prayed. Then we sang carols by request: We 3 Kings (Virginia's), Lo how a rose (Dunk's), Hark the herald angels sing (Molly's), It came upon the midnight clear (Jane's) and Silent Night (Jan). A lovely time was had by all and this is destined to become a St. Peter’s tradition.
Good News! Al Albitson is home!!!

Frozen Pipes Thank You Our thanks go to Junior Warden, Kevin Johnson, and committee members for assisting with frozen pipes during our cold snap this past month. Kevin, Ben Whittier, and Don Parry did a great job in getting pipes fixed and a new thermostatic device installed to help prevent further breakage.
Winter Clean Up Thank You And, our thanks also go to the church members who braved the cold weather to rake leaves and clean the church yard. They may have even had to remove the snow to get to the leaves!! Hard work, and most appreciated. Thank you, Kevin, Don, Dunk and Ben!

If you are interested in being on this committee or assisting in any way, please contact Jo Kelley or Kevin Johnson. Our local food pantry/emergency assistance agency, DAWN, only has resources to assist financially by partial pledges and a limited number of times for things like electric cut off, heating oil need, propane need, rent eviction, and medication. DAWN clients are instructed to contact churches for assistance.
