Memorial Service for Jacquie Carrico Please join us for a memorial service for Jacquie Carrico at St. Stephen’s on Saturday, June 11th at 2:00 p.m. There will be a light reception following the service. If you would like to volunteer to help with the service, please contact Kay Flores at 265-6516 or [email protected] and if you would like to volunteer to help with the reception, please contact Ann Adams at 253-7565 or Tracy in the church office at 265-4105 or [email protected] Jacquie has been a member of St. Stephen’s since December 13, 1976 and she and John moved to their son’s home in South Dakota in December of 2014. Jacquie served on the vestry of St. Stephen’s numerous times, as well as serving as our choir director, pianist/organist, and prayer chain chairperson through the years. For those wishing to remember Jacquie with a memorial, donations to help with the cremation expenses would be greatly appreciated by the Carrico family. Please keep the family in your prayers.

Mountain Service Combine the beauty of nature and your worship experience on Casper Mountain for our annual Mountain Service on June 26th at 10:30 a.m. It will be held at the South Shelter in Bear Trap Meadow. Bring your favorite lawn chair, some sunscreen, bug spray, and a dish to share. There will be no service at the church that day.

Safeguarding God’s Children There will be a Safeguarding God’s Children training at St. Stephen’s on Saturday, June 4th at 9:00 a.m. This worthwhile training deals with recognizing the signs of child abuse and protecting one of the most precious blessings that God has given us ... His children. Anyone who is interested may attend, but our insurance company requires that all keyholders (both within the church and outside groups) and those whose ministry within the church requires them to have contact with children, take the training. For questions, please contact Dwight Kuhl (258-5047) or Tracy in the church office (265-4105).

Other Summer Services Plans have not been finalized for the Episcopalian tri-parish service/ potluck (St. Mark’s will be hosting this year at the Fairgrounds) or the Poplar Street church service/picnic yet, but we will let you know when we have the details!

Letter of Thanks from The Most Rev. Michael Curry May 3, 2016 Dear Good People in Christ of St. Stephen’s, Greetings to you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Good news has reached my office about the outpouring of generosity you have provided through the Good Friday Offering. I want you to know how much your help means to the bishops, clergy and people of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East. In their own lands they continue to be icons of the reconciling love of our Lord Jesus through their parishes, schools and medical programs which serve all people in need throughout the region. They make known the love of Jesus in a part of the world where such love is hard to come by. (Continued on page 3)

Michael Curry (continued) (Continued from page 1)

We all know that these are very difficult times for our sister and brother Anglicans and for all Christians in the dioceses of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East. We may wonder when the violence and hardship will end. We may be confused. We may be discouraged. And in the

face of it all, we know our Lord is the way of peace. In Christ we work for peace. In the life of Jesus we know the face of compassion and mercy, resolve and courage which peacemaking requires. I firmly believe that as members of the Jesus movement we are called

upon by our Lord and Savior to create opportunities for all of God’s children to live in harmony. The effort you have put forward in prayer and tangible support of Christian ministry in the Province of Jerusalem and More detailed the Middle East is a state- information is available upon request. ment of solidarity which is nothing less than life(Continued on page 4)
