March is a favorite month in our family. In our family of 6, we have three birthdays in one week between the 4th and 11th of March. However, there is another reason March is significant in my life. March 1, 2017 will be my one year anniversary as the Lead Pastor of State Street Baptist Church. I can’t tell you how blessed my family and I are to be united with this amazing group of believers. The kindness, patience, and love you have displayed in my first year as your pastor has been amazing. As I reflect on this first year I am reminded of Paul’s words as he was reflecting on the Church of Philippi. Paul said, “In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now … I have you in my heart … I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:4-8). I can relate to Paul as I think and pray for my church family here at State Street. Thank you so much for making our first year here so memorable and for loving me and my family so extravagantly! Upcoming opportunities to invest in the Kingdom and invite others to “Taste and see that the LORD is good” (Psalm 34:8).
