Western Illinois University 2015 Volleyball Camp • Registration Form
Coaches Kelly Richardson Head Coach • First Season
Head Coach Kelly Richardson was announced as the 10th head coach in Western Illinois history on January 22nd after serving as an assistant coach at Texas-Arlington, where she helped guide the Mavericks to a 25-9 record, and a 14-6 Sun Belt Conference record. UTA posted the best season in two decades, had two All-SBC selections and one American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American. Prior to joining the UTA staff, Richardson served as the head coach at Southwest Baptist for seven seasons, turning in six seasons of double-digit victories. Richardson’s 2013 team turned in its first winning season since 1987, finishing 17-14 overall and tying for the best record in program history.
Dan Brown
Assistant Coach • First Season
Shortly after taking over as the head coch, Kelly Richardson announced the hiring of Dan Brown as an assistant coach. Brown joins the staff after spending four seasons as an assistant coach at the University of North Dakota. At Western Illinois, Brown will play a major role in recruiting, work with all aspects of the program, and will specifically handle the defensive schemes that the Leathernecks will implement. While at North Dakota Brown helped guide the team to two Great West Conference Tournament championships, a GWC regular season title, and the school’s first Big Sky regular season crown.
