   



Each team will consist of no more than twenty two players. No more than twenty can be rostered for a game. No more than four coaches may be on the bench during the game. All players must wear approved helmets with the approved face mask as defined by USA rules. Helmets must be worn on the bench at all times. Mouth guards and neck guards are recommended but not required for both American and Canadian teams. Any player on the ice during a game without this equipment will receive an automatic misconduct penalty. All games will consist of a 3 minute warm up and three 20 minute stop time periods. There will be a 1 minute break after the end of period when resurfacing will not occur. All teams must be dressed and ready to play 15 minutes before published starting times. Ice will be resurfaced after every 2 periods, so long as the games remain on schedule. Penalties and Rule modifications: - Minor: 2 minutes - Major: 5 minutes - Misconduct: 10 minutes - Fighting: Tournament Disqualification - Checking from behind counts as two penalties o A player may receive either 2 or 5 minute penalty at the (discretion of the referee). If a 2 minute penalty is assessed, the player will receive additional 10 min misconduct. However, if the player gets ejected from the game within the last ten minutes of the third period, they will receive a one game suspension. If a player is assessed a 5 minute penalty, the player will receive an additional game misconduct. If an injury results from any checking from behind, the player will receive a 5 minute match penalty and a game misconduct. Upon completion of the game, the Tournament Committee will decide if further action is required. - Any player receiving four penalties in one game will be disqualified for the remainder of that game. - All face-offs after a penalty will be in the penalized team’s zone. - Icing – If a player has the opportunity to touch the puck but does not icing will be waived off. - Off-sides - All games will use tag up off-sides. - HOME & VISITING TEAMS: The first team listed is the HOME team on each schedule. - In the event of a team forfeit, score will be posted 1-0. - Running time will commence with a 5 goal differential after the 1st period. - Final team roster will be only players listed online prior to first game. - Warm up pucks are not supplied by tournament. - All teams are required to supply the team waiver and release form online prior to first game. *Down player rule: If at any time a player goes down (injury) and play must be stopped, that player must sit out for the next 10 minutes of play. They may return to play after serving their 10 minutes recovery time. Players will remain on their team’s bench. Scorekeepers will track the time until player may return to play. No exceptions. Due to the importance of keeping the game schedule on time, this rule will encourage a player to find his way to the bench for minor injuries (bumps and bruises) rather than lying on the ice. If play is stopped, this will give the player time to recover and be looked at by the EMT. If you have only one color of jersey it is your team’s responsibility to contact the tournament staff no less than 30 minutes prior to game time about proper color. The home team will wear light colored jerseys. A 2 minute penalty will be imposed if there is a failure to comply.

Pool play: - Scoring o Win = 2 points o Tie = 1 point o Loss = 0 points - There are no time-outs during the pool play.



Championship Round: - Teams will be seeded by points earned in pool play. o 8 Team Pools: Top seed in each pool o 12 team Pools: Top seed in each pool and wild card o No third place game in brackets with six in the pool play. Trophy will be awarded to the third seed. - TIE IN STANDINGS: Team standings shall be determined by total points. To determine team standings in the event of a tie in points, the following criteria shall be used: In the event teams are tied in points at the end of a non-medal round (i.e., Pool play), the standings shall be determined in accordance with the following tie-breaker scheme. o Head to Head: The tied teams are ranked in a descending order according to the win-loss result of games played between the tied teams. In a 3-way scenario [where (a) each team has defeated 1 of the other tied with, while losing to the other or (b) where all 3 have tied each other] then the tiebreaker advances. o Most Wins: The tied teams are ranked in a descending order according to most winds during all preliminary round games (most wins takes precedence over least wins) o Quotient: The tied teams are ranked in a descending order according to goals for (GF) divided by goals against (GA) during all preliminary games (greater ‘Q’ takes precedence over lower). In a divide by zero scenario (where a team has no goals against) the team shall be ranked ahead of a teams that allowed 1 or more goals. o Least goals allowed: The teams with the fewest goals allowed in pool play. - Each team will be allowed a single one minute time-out during the Championship and 3rd place game. - Tie games for Championship and 3rd place games will be decided in a five minute 4-on-4 overtime. If still tied then by a shoot-out. Teams will not switch ends. Each team will have their first five shooters go against the opposing goalie alternating teams. The team that out scores the other team will be the winner. If the game is still tied, it will become a sudden death shootout. During the sudden death rounds each team will have one shot to outscore the other team. “Oshie” rule applies after 5 shooters. Coaches may change goalies at their discretion during the shootout. Home team has the option of shooting first or not. In brackets where there is no Third place game the Third place will be awarded to the 3rd highest seeded team. In some brackets a fifth game will not be provided. th - Brackets with 3 pools top seed of each will move on with the 4 seed going to the next highest points, then quotient, then least goals allowed, then coin toss.
