LEGAL NOTICE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER Bloomfield Water Supply System Has Levels of Total Trihalomethanes above Drinking Water Standards Our water system recently violated a drinking water standard. Although this is not an emergency.as our customers, you have a rightto know what happened, what you should do, and what we are doing to correct this situation. We routinely monitor for the presence of drinking water contaminants. Testing results show that our system exceeds the standard or maximum contaminant level (MCL), for Total Trihalomethanes. The standard for Total Trihalomethanes is 0.080 mg/l. The average level of Total Trihalomethanes over the last quarter is shownin the table below: Sample Location SampleDate Quarter & Year TTHM LRAA (mg/L) TTHM·-1 -Western Refining 8/8/2017 3rd Quarter 20 1 7 .087 : What should I do? This is not an immediate risk. If it had been, you would have been notifiedimmediately. However, some people who drink water containing Total Trihalomethanesin excess of the MCL over many years may have an increased risk of getting cancer. Addi t ionally, some people drink water containing Total Trihalomethanes in excess of the MCL over many years may experience problems with their livers, kidneys or central nervous systems. What is being done? The City is flushing our water distribution system on a regular schedule and adding Sodium Hydroxide aid to remove TTHM's. We are also looking at installing a Spray Aeration System for TTHM removal within our storage tanks. We anticipate resolving the problem within 2019.
