Rohnert Park Road Improvements City of Rohnert Park, 130 Avram Avenue, Rohnert Park, CA 94928

Spring 2016

Enhancements to Snyder Lane and Rohnert Park Expressway This notice is to update you on construction activities in your area.

The City of Rohnert Park has several construction projects in progress in the area of Snyder Lane and Rohnert Park Expressway scheduled for completion this year. You may have already experienced affects as the work has progressed over the last year and are curious as to the timeline for completion. Inclement weather is slowing construction activities, although progress is being made. Construction teams are working in-between the wet weather days to keep on track. Information will be sent out periodically as crews are cleared to work.

Please remember to slow down and use caution in these construction areas, especially during winter storm events. The City of Rohnert Park would like to thank you for your cooperation and patience during the completion of projects this year and look forward to the enhancements that they will bring to our City.

The map above indicates the area where the construction crews are working.

Projects to be Completed in 2016 Snyder Lane Ghilotti Construction Company continues to work in-between rain days to keep the Snyder Lane project on schedule. During the month of March, crews will be looking for a window when the weather is nice to complete grading along Snyder Lane north of RPX. There will be times when traffic will be limited to one lane and flaggers will be present to direct traffic in one direction at a time. Please allow for delays or follow suggested alternative routes. Rohnert Park Expressway (RPX) Due to the weather, work has been postponed along RPX. The remaining work consists of asphalt paving, which is temperature sensitive. The contractor needs eight days of good weather without moisture on the roads to complete paving. Currently, the road surface temperature in the morning is still below acceptable paving range. The construction management team is monitoring the temperature changes and will most likely have a window open to pave in April. Benefits to the Community When the work is completed, Rohnert Park Expressway will be resurfaced, Snyder Lane and Copeland Creek Bridge will have been widened, plant-filled medians will separate traffic on Snyder Lane, power lines will be underground and there will be a new sewer and storm drain line. Flashing beacons will be added to crosswalks serving the schools and street lights will be updated.
