February 3, 2017 - Student applications are due by 11:59pm. - No applications will be accepted after this deadline.

February 6, 2017 - Teachers, guidance counselors and administrators will be notified which students have completed applications. - Teachers will be notified of students whom asked for recommendations

February 7-9, 2017 - STEM Applicants will have a brief interview with the selection committee. Date depends on school. - Absent students must arrange an interview.

February 15, 2017 - Guidance/Administration Evaluation is due - Teacher recommendations are due

March 24, 2017 - Letters will be mailed to all applicants including accepted students and rejected students.

March 31, 2017 - Accepted students must accept or reject their invitation

April 26, 2017 - STEM Academy Information night for accepted students and parents
Teacher Recommendations We are changing our recommendation process. We still require two recommendations. In the application, the student will be asked to list four teachers from whom they would like to receive recommendations. After the student’s application is submitted, the STEM Selection Committee will contact the teachers directly. We will first contact the #1 and #2 recommenders and more down the list as necessary. Should the STEM Selection Committee need an additional recommendation, we will reach out to the student for an additional recommender. Application Instructions *Applications may be edited up until February 1, 2017 at 11:59pm. No changes will be accepted after that deadline.* 1. Go to www.everettpublicschools.org a. Click on “Schools”, then choose “Everett High School” from the menu. b. Click on “About Us”, then choose “STEM Academy” from the menu. c. Click on 2017-2018 Application 2. General Information a. Complete the General Information section. b. Be sure to use your name as it appears on the Everett Public School’s records 3. Parent Information a. Please be sure to give a valid email and phone number as we will use these for primary contact. 4. Teacher Recommendation a. Pick four teachers you would like to receive recommendations from. We will start with the #1 and move to the #4 as needed. b. You are required to have two recommendations, should we need more names, we will contact you. 5. Personal Information a. Your answers to these questions do not help or hurt your chances of being accepted, only help us understand your interests. 6. Application Essay a. It is highly suggested that you write your essay prior to completing your application. It would be wise to have a teacher or parent proofread your essay before submitting. If you type the essay in Word, Google Docs, Pages or any other word processor, you can simply copy and paste your essay into the application. 7. Signatures a. Please be advised that your signature is a commitment to the application. It acknowledges that everything you have submitted on your application is truthful. b. This must be entered by your parent. If it is determined that your parent did not sign, your application may be rejected.
