Stitching News “Sheepish” 6-hour workshop Thursday, March 16 at 9:30 Barbara Binotto, Instructor Class Fee is $50 plus a $5 kit fee. Create an 8”x10” landscape focused on a wooly sheep grazing on flowers with an apple tree and basket in the background. Several hand and machine techniques will be used: fusible web appliqué; hand construction of a fleecy sheep; flowers sewn with a zigzag stitch; French knot “apples”; Lutrador foliage. The finished landscape is mounted on a canvas-covered frame.
Create a Landscape Pattern From your Own Photo Wednesday, March 22 at 9:30 Barbara Binotto, Instructor Class Fee is $50 plus a $1 kit fee.
Bring a photo (no portraits, please) enlarged to the desired size of your finished project. (Crop your original photo if you wish, as shown in the photos below). Learn the simple drafting process to create an appliqué pattern. By the end of the 6-hour class, you will have completed (or be well on your way to completing) a freezer paper pattern for your own personal landscape. We will also discuss the appliqué process you will use as well as fabric choice. All levels. No machine required.
Stitching News We are bringing the Saturday Sampler back to The Cotton Cupboard. Sign-ups are now being taken for Wrapped in Joy. Rather than receiving 1 block a month you will receive 1 Row, of the same block. 6 rows in total. The Saturday Sampler will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, April 1. Sign-ups are on a first come first serve basis. Sign-up is $30 which includes $5.00 for the first month’s kit.
On April 1st the First Row, directions and fabric will be available. On the first Saturday in May come into the shop with your completed row from April and receive May’s row FREE. If on the first Saturday of each month after that you present your previous months finished row you will receive that month’s row FREE. If you haven’t finished or do not come in on that Saturday, it will cost you $5.00 for the current month. Rows are to be picked up by the individual making them, on the 1st Saturday in order to receive that month’s block free. If anyone picks up your block for you on that day, even if you have finished the block the fee of $5.00 will apply. No exceptions will be made, as ever y effor t is being made for you to obtain your monthly block for free. We will not be able to mail blocks. We understand life happens, but we must adhere to the rules to keep it fair to everyone.
If your row has not been picked up for 2 consecutive months of Saturday Sampler either by you or someone paying the $5.00 you will forfeit your membership in the Saturday Sampler program. No monies will be refunded.
