Spring residential street sweeping commenced on April 6, 2015 and was completed on May 29, 2015. Central Business District sweeping will continue throughout the summer and fall months. Residential sweeping will resume on or about mid-September and continue, weather permitting, thru completion. The Street Division wishes to thank all citizens for their cooperation and patience during this process. All Street Division Operations are dependent on existing weather conditions and are subject to change accordingly. Citizens are urged to approach Public Works Crews with caution and at a reduced speed that is below posted speed limits. Jefferson Street Bridge: Column and Beam Repairs During the week of August 17, 2015 work is scheduled to begin on the Jefferson Street Bridge between Madison Street and the Rock River. The project involves completing structural repairs to the columns and beams in order to lengthen the life of the bridge. DURING THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT THE JEFFERSON STREET BRIDGE, LOWER JEFFERSON STREET, AND THE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE ACROSS THE ROCK RIVER WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL VEHICULAR AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC. On Wednesday August 19, 2015 lower Jefferson Street will be closed. On Wednesday, August 26, 2015 the Jefferson Street Bridge will be closed. A detour route will be posted. Construction is anticipated to last until mid-November 2015. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for the inconvenience.

South Alpine Box Culvert Reconstruction – Project Status On Monday, July 27, 2015 reconstruction of the South Alpine Box Culvert started. The box culvert is located on Alpine Rd. north of Larson Avenue and just south of the Alpine Park entrance. During construction Alpine will remain open to one lane each direction. Traffic will be shifted to the west side of Alpine for the first stage of

construction. The north entrance of Alpine Park will close. The entrance and exit of Alpine Park will be redirected to the former south exit. The project should be complete by the beginning of December, 2015. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for the inconvenience. Airport Drive and Falcon Road Roadway Reconstruction Project Airport Drive is currently closed from Lockheed Drive to Assembly Drive. Due to the heavy amounts of rain the area has experienced the last couple of days, the road opening date is being pushed back to the week of August 24, 2015. The section of road to be open will be from Lockheed Drive to Falcon Road. The roundabout will officially be open for drivers traveling on Airport Drive and Kishwaukee Street. The 2nd phase of construction is currently underway from Falcon Road to 6th Street. This section of roadway will be closed for another 8 weeks for roadway and railroad crossing reconstruction. No thru traffic will be allowed except for local businesses. A detour route will be posted for drivers traveling in the area. The Airport Drive reconstruction Project will include all roadway from Kishwaukee Street to Illinois 251 (11th Street). This reconstruction project will consist of pavement removal, excavation, concrete pavement, curb and gutter, median, landscaping, storm sewer installation, street lighting, traffic signal modernization, erosion control and new concrete pavement. Some notable improvements to the project will be constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Kishwaukee Street and Airport Drive, rail road crossing reconstruction and straightening out the road way east of the rail road crossing. It is anticipated that the Airport Drive Reconstruction Project will be completed by November 15, 2015. Falcon Road is currently closed from Airport Drive to Samuelson Rd and is anticipated to be back open the week of August 24, 2015. No thru traffic will be allowed except for local businesses. A detour route will be posted for drivers traveling in the area. Shoulder road work will also resume on Falcon Road so drivers should use caution while traveling this route. The Falcon Road Reconstruction Project will include all roadways from New Milford School Road to Airport Drive, including intersection improvements at New Milford School Road, Samuelson Road and Airport Drive. The project will consist of pavement removal, reclaiming existing pavement, curb and gutter, ditch and water way improvements, reconstruction of business entrances, erosion control and new asphalt pavement. It is anticipated that Falcon Road will be completed by November 15, 2015.

Kishwaukee Street is currently closed from Airport Drive to Research Parkway and is anticipated to be back open the week of August 24, 2015. Drivers traveling on Kishwaukee Street will now have access to the roundabout at the Kishwaukee Street and Airport Drive Intersection. During construction, no thru traffic will be allowed except for local businesses. A detour route will be posted for drivers traveling in the area.

IL- 2 / South Main Street – Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Roadway Project (South of Pond Street to just North of Cedar Street) Construction work is currently underway and drivers are reminded to be alert for workers and changing traffic patterns. IDOT has closed most side streets along S. Main St from Clifton Ave to Montague St. The only roads that will be accessible are Ogilby Rd, Marchesano Dr and Knowlton St. Drivers should be prepared to use alternate routes when traveling this area. The project consists of pavement removal, excavation, roadway re-alignment, PCC pavement, HMA pavement, curb and gutter, landscaped median, multi-use path and sidewalk construction, storm sewer installation, landscaping, street lighting, traffic signal modernization and interconnection, pavement markings, erosion control, maintenance of traffic and all other necessary items to complete the improvements. The project completion date is late 2015. IDOT will be coordinating with all applicable governmental agencies throughout the project. The City will relay information as it becomes available. Drivers are reminded to obey work zone speed limits and to stay alert for workers when driving through the construction zone.

Drivers are reminded to obey work zone speed limits and to stay alert for workers when driving through the construction zone.

ARTERIAL PAVEMENT STRIPING ROCKFORD –Effective August 24, 2015 Beginning the week of 8/24/2015 through 8/28/2015, the Public Works Department will perform arterial pavement striping on the following roadways: 35th St. from Courtland to Linden Rd. Linden Rd. from Alpine to 35th St. E. State St. from Wyman St. to Water St. Eastrock Dr. from Harrison Ave. to 28th St. Kishwaukee St. from 1st Ave. to Airport Dr. Cessna Dr. from Beltline Rd. to the End New Milford School Rd. from 11th St to Falcon Rd. Arterial pavement striping will continue during the months of July thru August. Citizens are urged to approach striping crews at a reduced speed that is below posted speed limits. Proceed with caution traveling into the lane adjacent to the pavement striper and maintain a safe distance. Changing lanes in close proximity to the pavement striping crew is not recommended. Recent changes in EPA Regulations have mandated that manufacturers remove solvent based driers from striping paint, thus creating extended drying times. Your cooperation is appreciated.
