Substitute Teacher Process: 1. Attend a mandatory substitute teacher training 2. Complete and turn in necessary paperwork (paperwork will be handed out at mandatory meeting), to include: • Substitute Teacher Application • Proof of highest level of education (minimum High School Diploma or GED) • If certified, valid Texas Teaching Certificate • I-9 form (Employee Eligibility Verification) • W-4 form (Empoyee Withholding Certificate) • Letter of Reasonable Assurance • Tuberculosis Questionnaire 3. A criminal background check will be completed by HR 4. If paperwork and background check is satisfactory, the applicant’s name will be forwarded to the Board of Directors for approval...the Board normally meets the third Monday of every month. 5. Once Board approved, the substitute’s name will be activated in the automated sub-finder system called Aesop and an “Aesop Welcome Letter” will be forwarded to the substitute.
Aesop Sub-Finder System Livingston ISD uses a program called “AESOP” to help manage substitutes for campus employees. AESOP is a substitute teacher automated replacement system that allows the district employees and substitutes to use both the internet and phone to fill campus absences. THE PERSONNEL OFFICE SHOULD BE NOTIFIED OF ANY CHANGE IN NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, EDUCATIONAL STATUS, OR AVAILABILITY.
