Suggested Donation List
This year there is a great need for new “no show” socks for boys and girls of all ages and African American hair products. As always, students also need: • New underwear of all sizes, boys like to wear boxers • Girls sports bras in small, medium and large • New pajamas • Backpacks • New sleeping bags • Blankets • Personal care items: - Shampoo & conditioner - Body wash - Lotion - Deodorant - Laundry soap & dryer sheets - Feminine hygiene products - Hair brushes, hair ties & hair products • $5 gift cards to Subway, McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s & other restaurants. • Gift cards to drug stores, office supply stores, shoe stores, etc. • Used gift cards with small amounts remaining to almost anywhere—Wal-mart, Meijer, restaurants, etc.
Homeless Education Liaisons can give gift cards for restaurants to students who would other wise go without a meal. They can use gift cards to drugs stores, etc. to help with special purchases such as toiletries, poster board for school projects, new shoes for growing feet and more. Liaisons do not need general clothing items as other Lenawee County agencies provide these services.
