WESTERN France SHIP REPAIR AND CONVERSION LEADING PARTNER FOR SHIP REPAIR PROJECTS The cluster BRETAGNE POLE NAVAL was born in 2007 to create a major centre for quality shipbuilding, repair and conversion in Western France, joining forces, competences and skills in an advanced way to meet international ship owners and operators needs. Ideally located at the maritime crossroads of European shipping industry, in Western France area, BRETAGNE POLE NAVAL is a network of excellence which provides a global offer of innovative and performing services to ship owners, ship managers, ship operators and captains expecting highly professional approach, quality and safety environment, competitive rates and reaction: available industrial and port infrastructures complying with environmental regulations, innovative, eco-design and technologies for shipbuilding, propulsion systems as gas or electrics with applications to big vessels and small passengers’ ships. BRETAGNE POLE NAVAL is also involved in offshore wind and hydro-energy research and development projects In western France we have the largest concentration of experimented shipbuilding and repairs industries and a highly skilled flexible workforce to offer a global answer to your ship repair and conversion projects, including global project management and coordination. A large and performing dock area with available facilities complying with environmental regulations is dispatched in 5 main harbours, in Saint-Malo, Saint-Brieuc, Brest, Douarnenez, Concarneau and Lorient: 12 dry-docks from 66 to 420 m long and 11 to 80 m wide 5 mobile lifts from 70 to 650 t 1 fixed lift of 2 000t 4 slipways for ships until 400t Industrial deep water quays with platforms for heavy loads ands handling systems Storage facilities and workshops. BRETAGNE POLE NAVAL is a network of specialists and experts in every field of shipbuilding and repairing activities: Project management, Naval design and architecture, Shipbuilding, refit, repair and conversion, Equipment design and supply, onboard integrated systems, Tests and commissioning, Logistics, maintenance, and related services. 60 companies located in all the ports of the region work together to provide global services for ship repairs and maintenance, in harbour, overseas or in transit. Experimented projects teams with a wide experience in the industry from ship repair to new building are supported by a workforce of 10 000 skilled and flexible people and contractor infrastructure dedicated to customer service.

GLOBAL TENDER AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR SHIPBUILDING, REPAIR AND CONVERSION The synergy between corporate industries, docking infrastructures, shipyards members of BRETAGNE PÔLE NAVAL enable development of repair and conversion activity in all sites of Western France. The European largest concentration of famous shipyards, shipbuilding and repair industries represents an international renowned knowhow and expertise in all types of ships: merchant ships, passengers and cruise ships, supply ships and workboats, yachts and leisure boats… This large panel of modern and performing facilities, complementary skills and workforce sharing give ship owners and managers the best answer for ship current maintenance and maintenance programs but also to emergency breakdowns anywhere in the world. In addition of major marine projects, the fabrication facilities offer opportunities to build offshore modules, sub sea structures and to develop new energy resources and equipment such as wind farms, wind platforms, hydro energy… A collaborative work with naval industry and engineering, with the support of competitiveness poles, is run by the cluster for research and development in marine energies and high tech innovative marine technologies, such as composite modules. PORT OF CONCARNEAU PROFESSIONALS’ ASSOCIATION (I.P.C) 50 COMPANIES, SHIPBUILDING AND SHIP REPAIR KNOW-HOW IN FRANCE AND ABROAD
Companies in shipbuilding activity in the port of Concarneau are federated in the association called Interprofession du Port de Concarneau (I.P.C), which provides ship-owners global expertise in shipbuilding and ship repair, in France and abroad, for all types of vessel : fishing, offshore, supply, research, shipping, yachting, military, passengers … Shipbuilding: diversity and complementarities Shipbuilding is a key element of the overall expertise available in Concarneau, where more than 320 units have already been built and delivered throughout the world. Ship repair: Suitable dry-docking facilities for all types of vessel The port of Concarneau benefits from facilities allowing ships up to 115 metres drydocking: a 50,000 m² covered area, a 400-tonnes slipway, a 2,000-tonnes lift and a 130m long and 27 m wide dry dock. In 2009: Modernization of ATALANTE, oceanographic vessel owned by IFREMER, was a wide project which most of Port of Concarneau’s companies took part. 250 YEARS EXPERTISE IN SHIPBUILDING, REPAIR & CONVERSION AND IN INDUSTRY PROCESSES TIMOLOR – LEROUX & LOTZ performs on 4 port sites in Western France: Lorient, Saint-Nazaire, Brest and Cherbourg. Today, it employs 170 professionals. TIMOLOR – LEROUX & LOTZ advances its know-how and expertise in various industrial processes projects and in all professions of ship building and repair activities, industry in workshop or on-site industrial plants. The company has a 5 000 m2 in five workshops in Lorient and a lifting capacity of 15t and a direct access to port infrastructures, dry docks and means of stake in water: A 650t lift and 150t hydraulic trolley. The company also has, in St-Nazaire and Cherbourg, 2 000 m2 of workshops and social premises. TIMOLOR – LEROUX & LOTZ set up in different sites in order to go on developing industrial outside and export activities like construction of steel offshore platform for wind turbine and all the activities associated to it. On all these activities, TIMOLOR - LEROUX & LOTZ is proxy of important contracts of global subcontracting among which here is a part of the list of « Major accounts »: DCNS multisite, STX multisite, ROULLIER group, DOUX group, EDF, GDF. TIMOLOR-LEROUX & LOTZ also develops engineering and studies The company recently managed repair and refit project (sheet metal working) for oceanic research sailing boat TARA and had a 200 hours studies partnership with the ship-owner. SPIE Ouest-Centre Shipbuilding and Repair Division (CRN)
The shipbuilding and repair division of SPIE (CRN) offers to its customers turn key contracts covering: - project management - design and installation on board of ships of electrical systems (power supply, distribution and info-comm networks) - design and manufacture of electric switchboards - piping, HVAC - testing and commissioning CRN act also as global contractor, for all or part of a ship (completely outfitted sections or hull blocks), including electrical works, piping, ventilation, mechanical works. CRN have been involved in all major programs of DCNS on the last decades (frigates class La Fayette, Bravo, Sawari, Fremm, BPC, Charles-de-Gaulle aircraft carrier, nuclear submarine Le Terrible) and is also active in other shipbuilding yards like CMN (electrical network and piping onboard luxury motor yachts) or STX Europe.
