So, what can I do? Learn Mental Health First Aid! It is a two part, free 8 hour certified training to help someone developing a mental health problem or at risk of suicide or harm. This innovative program offers concrete tools and answers key questions like “What can I do if someone is in crisis?” “How do I approach someone in distress?” “What do I say?” “How can I help?” “Where can someone find help?” “How do I help someone considering suicide?”
You will learn: About common mental health and substance use disorders Warning signs and symptoms of mental health problems Potential risk factors Local resources and supports A five step action plan: Assess for risk of suicide or harm Listen Non-judgmentally Give reassurance and information Encourage appropriate professional help Encourage self-help and other support strategies Please join us!
