Guided Reading and Beyond: Differentiation in the ELAR Classroom (K-5). K-4 Mentally Healthy Classroom Students arrive in your classroom with a variety of experiences & challenges. A Meeting of the Minds: A Best Practices Session for ELAR Teachers. After a brief introductory session with a facilitator, teachers will break into grade-level sessions to share ideas for teaching vocabulary, grammar, writing, comprehension, and research, just to name a few. A more detailed agenda with a list of items to bring will be available after registration. 8:30 – 3:30 FOCUS on What Works: Experts Share Their Secrets Not only is vertical alignment and purposeful planning crucial th for success on the 8 grade STAAR, but students must interact with the content through hands-on lab experiences. In this workshop participants will share labs and other expert tips for getting students to deeper understandings of the TEKS. Participants will do at least one lab, so dress comfortably! Once registered, participants will be given a more detailed agenda with a list of items to bring to the workshop. 8:30 – 3:30 9 – 12 High School UBD Math Planning This year high school math implements new TEKS and has new textbooks. Come to this facilitated planning session to gain a deep understanding of the changes to the IFDs and see how you can incorporate resources from new materials into successful unit planning. Connect University, or Connect U, is a premier education conference focused on investigating and exploring technology integration in K-12 classrooms.
