EC Cheer receives Gold Bid to NCA Nationals!

EC Cheer competed against 30 other teams at Boston University to receive bids for NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL. Each team receives a short routine layout to show off their tumbling skills, crowd involvement, stunts, motion technique, pyramids, and tosses. Elmira won 1st place in their division for Rally Routine. Each team also puts together a crowd oriented game day cheer. EC hit both routines cleanly when performed for final evaluations. Bid winners are chosen by the amount
of points accumulated at the end of camp. EC Cheer walked away with 1 of the 5 gold paid bids given away at camp and had the 2nd highest amount of points behind Montclair State University.

Coaches are pleased with outcome of camp “Being an alum of the program, I am proud that EC cheer is keeping up the legacy of success at NCA camp at Boston University with earning our 7th consecutive gold bid to Nationals. It is so exciting to kick off our season the way this team did. This is my 6th
year attending NCA camp, and only my 2nd as a coach & I have never seen EC cheer display such confidence in their skills on the final day of evaluations. We truly couldn't have asked for them to do any better than they did. The entire week was a lot of fun for
both Amber & I as well as the team. We bonded as a team and made new memories together. Head coach Amber Myers & I are so proud of this team and are so excited to see what this season holds for EC cheer!” -Alli Dunham, Assistant Coach
Pre-Camp Fun! Elmira College Cheer worked through two-a-day practices the week prior to leaving for NCA Camp at Boston University. During pre-camp, we got accumulated with a new team & worked on stunts, tumbling, and choreography for the rally routine and game day routine we would compete at NCA Camp. Aside from all the tough work, we did manage to have a lot of fun, too! The girls had a scavenger hunt around campus, went to the drive-ins, had a team dinner at Roundin’ 3rd, had a car wash on campus, and a team cook-out at Harris Hill! All-American Winners
Each year at NCA Camp at Boston University, athletes try out to become an NCA All-American. The skills required are to complete a round-off back handspring full, a toe-touch back tuck, and a stunt consisting of a full up to extended, immediate quick-up to extended high to high tick tock,

Top Gun All-Girl Stunt Winners Top Gun stunt is a competition at NCA Camp where a stunt group choreographs a 45 second stunt routine. There is one all-girl winner and one co-ed winner at the entire camp. Sami Wyatt’16 and her stunt group, Ainsley Collins’19, Ashley Levan’17, and Taelor Moyer’18 won the all-girl stunt group! Page 2
