Summer Program

The Program Realizing Educational Potential (PREP) at Northern Arizona University offers scholars from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to prepare for a future career in the health professions. Our goal is to strengthen the health and human services workforce by creating a pipeline for students to increase the racial and ethnic diversity in the health professions.

Seventy-five PREP Scholars Will Include: Each scholar will receive up to $3,600 stipend based on completion of 180 cumulative hours within the program. Ø 25 high school junior or senior students Ø 25 community college students Ø 25 university freshmen or sophomore students

The Program Includes: Scholars will participate Monday-Friday from 9am-5:30pm and Saturday from 9am-3pm. Ø College Lectures Ø Clinical Visits Ø Shadowing and Volunteer Opportunities Ø Research Projects Ø Individualized Professional Development Plan Ø Peer Mentoring

A 4.5 week program held over the month of June and takes place at NAU’s mountain campus in Flagstaff, AZ
