Up Next: Real Friends by Shannon Hale & LeUyen Pham Monday, August 14, 7-8 pm Shannon and Adrienne have been best friends ever since they were little. But one day, Adrienne starts hanging out with Jen, the most popular girl in class and the leader of a circle of friends called The Group. Everyone wants to be Jen's #1, and some girls would do anything to stay on top– even if it means bullying others. I Will Always Write Back by Martin Ganda and Caitlin Alifirenka Tuesday, August 22, 1-2 pm It started as an assignment. Everyone in Caitlin's class wrote to an unknown student somewhere in a distant place. Martin was lucky to even receive a pen-pal letter. There were only ten letters, and fifty kids in his class. But he was the top student, so he got the first one. That letter was the beginning of a correspondence that spanned six years and changed two lives. Register and pick up your free book, while supplies last, at the Kids Desk between June 12 and July 31. Each member may only sign up for one August session.
