ATTENTION GARDENERS! If you haven’t picked up your plants yet, please stop by Coy Hall and pick them up. SEARCHERS CLASS TODAY, Bev Goodier, who has a M.A. in counseling and is a Diaconal Minister in the Rocky Mountain Conference, will lead the Searchers class. She will be assisted by volunteers from the Circle of Life program, which is a ministry of FUMC begun by Bev to help children and adults through life transition. Next Sunday, Rev. Steve Goodier will present "Holy Conferencing," role playing on how to discuss difficult issues with those who have different opinions. The class meets at 9:45am in Fellowship Hall in Rooms S030 & S040. All are welcome. MAY IS OUR MONTH TO DONATE TO HOUSE OF NEIGHBORLY SERVICE Our annual food/personal products drive for the House of Neighborly Service will be set up during the month of May in Lobby Court. You may pick up a handout there telling what specific items are most needed. There will also be a donation container as HNS can buy food more reasonably in bulk than we can get it at the grocery ourselves. CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL Attention Children’s Sunday school teachers and shepherds and anyone interested in becoming a part of our Children’s Ministry in the fall, we are meeting to talk about the amazing things that happened in Sunday school this year and what we can change for next year. Please meet in West Coy Hall on May 17 at 6:00pm. If you have any questions please email Ann Kessler at [email protected] or call her at (970) 290-2796. UMW UNIT MEETING The UMW Unit meeting that was schedule for Saturday, May 20 has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 10 at 9:00am in Coy Hall with a special program. Please pass this message on to other UMW ladies. Sorry for the inconvenience. GROCERY GIFT CARDS Help the church any yourself! Purchase a renewable grocery card at the cart in Coy Hall for $25.00, $50.00 or $100.00. These can then be renewed at the grocery store using your credit card. You earn points on your card, and the church makes a percentage of your card purchase.

PRESENTATION ON STRESS AND ANXIETY All of us can identify with moments of anxiety, and certainly stress. While we can’t remove stress from our lives, we can change how we respond to stress. If you are interested in learning new and effective skills to handle anxiety and stress in your life, please come to this class on Sunday, May 21 from 9:45-10:45am, in Room E150. During the class, Centus Counselor Ann Price will teach specific components of anxiety; ways to challenge negative thinking; “mindfulness” and meditation tools, and other coping strategies for managing anxiety and stress. Bring your thoughts and questions, and we will have a lively discussion! CALLING ALL GREEN THUMBS Truscott Community Garden is partnering with FUMC. There is an opportunity to help with this project. Volunteers are needed Mondays from 3:30-5:00pm through May 22. There is a sign-up sheet at the Ask Me Desk. Also, they are looking for a working lawnmower. Help will be needed to mow the lawn at the garden during the summer months. The Community Garden contact person is Sheryl Daneman at (970) 2316116. Or, contact Norma Flaming at (970) 231-0905 or [email protected]. CHURCH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED FOR MEMORIAL DAY The church office will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. COME LEARN SPANISH IN A FUN WAY! Beginning classes will start June 5 at 5:30pm in Youth Range and will run for six weeks on Monday and Wednesday nights. Call Carolyn Bouchard at (970) 481-2818 to reserve a book. If you would like classes during the day, I will have classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00-11:00am that will feature learning Spanish from a song book. Please leave a message. VACATION VOLUNTEERS We're trying something new this summer! Vacation Volunteers will be a once-a-month children's service, learning and celebration opportunity here at the church. We'll put all our skills to work crafting, building, assembling, coloring, and otherwise helping those in our community who need us - from the Truscott garden, to people who need food, to wild birds who need nests, and much more! Our times together will also include worship, Bible stories, and prayer. If you would like to be a part of Vacation Volunteers please sign up in Lobby Court. Everyone - children, teens, and adults of all ages - will have opportunities to join in the fun this summer! Stay tuned as more details become available, and mark your calendar for the Wednesday mornings of June 14, July 12, and August 9 to join us in this new adventure! For more information, speak with Ann Kessler or Laura Morgan.

ANGEL HOUSE VOLUNTEER TRAINING In June there will be training for Angel House volunteers. If you’ve been thinking about assisting with this amazing service to local homeless families, this will be the perfect opportunity to learn more about this mission. Call Karin Delaney at (970) 218-5608 or email her at [email protected] for more information. BRICKS WANTED! The youth are excited to announce that they will be building a prayer labyrinth around the large oak tree in the front yard. They have taken their ideas and drawings to Church Council and the Trustees for approval and are planning to build it with the help of a youth choir from Texas and a youth group from North Carolina. Currently they are asking for help collecting standard size bricks (4x2x8). The color does not matter; different colors will be more interesting. The purpose of this labyrinth is to provide an outdoor worship space for our church to do different programs on it and for our neighbors in the community to walk over and enjoy some quite time on the labyrinth. Please contact Ann Kessler at [email protected] or Laura Morgan at [email protected] if you have questions or would like to help in any way.

Name: Brick McBrickster Size: Standard (4x2x8) Color: Any and all If Brick is in your possession, please turn in to FUMC. It is doubtful that Brick will turn himself in.
