Over 80’s Luncheon ~ May 6 Everyone is invited to the "Let Your Light Shine" salad-dessert luncheon on Saturday, May 6 at 12 noon to honor the men and women of our church who are 80 years of age or older. A special program is planned with Karen Christensen sharing "Volunteer Opportunities in our Community". Confirmation Sunday will be Sunday, May 7. Come join us to witness our confirmation students profess their faith during worship. Sharing Your Time, Celebrating Our Legacy- Our church will mark our 150th Anniversary in October 2017. One way to celebrate this ministry legacy is for people to share their time- 150 hours every month through October. We are already at 213 hours! Take a look at your calendar- have you shared your time this month? Taken someone to a medical visit? Sent cards to people to cheer them up? Delivered some homemade treats to a neighbor? Those count too! (for organization write “community care”). Please record your generosity of time on the sign located in the lobby. Vacation Bible School is just around the corner! VBS will be held from 6:15-8:15 p.m. on June 4-8th at Redwood Alliance Church. We’re looking forward to a great week of learning together about the bible and what God wants to teach us! We encourage children age 4 thru “going into” 6th grade to attend Vacation Bible School 2017. Bring a Friend! A registration form is included in this bulletin. Registrations are needed by May 24. VBS Donations needed. We will be taking donations of full cube shape Kleenex boxes for a VBS craft project. There is a collection box in the lobby for your donations. Thank you! UMW Baby Bottle Fundraiser to be held again. United Methodist Women are collecting again for the Choices Pregnancy Center Baby Bottle Fundraiser. Watch for baby bottles to be given out on our Mother’s Day service, May 14. Just fill the bottle with your loose change and return on Father’s Day, June 18. If you are writing a check, please make it to United Methodist Women. Thank you again to all who brought plants on Easter Sunday. Please take your plant home with you after worship today.

United Methodist Women Senior Scholarship A $500.00 scholarship is being offered by our UMW to a graduating senior from our church family. Selection will be made from the applications received by the Scholarship Committee in the church office by May 1, 2017. Sound Off for April Gift Cards! How does an updated sound system sound for our church? You can help by purchasing gift cards in April! The current system was installed in 1996 and has been sound for many years. It’s getting tired though and the Trustees would like to move toward a wireless sound system, when funds become available. Support April gift card sales and the proceeds will go toward a sound system fund. Now that’s a sound bite worth chewing on! Just in time for summer. . . Dairy Queen gift cards are now available.
