#BETHANYBKLYN #MINSIMPSONSAID #GETIN-FORMATION #YOUNGADULTDAY
OUR KNOWN SICK AND SHUT-IN MEMBERS “I was sick and ye visited me…” Matthew 25:36
Beloved, How can a loser be a winner? One of the more popular television shows from 2004-2016, The Biggest Loser, had that as its premise. The concept was that the contestants would go through weeks of grueling weight training and disciplined dietary eating habit changes in a boot camp environment. It was assumed that these changes in behavior altered the person physically, mentally, and spiritually. At the end of the episode, the contestant would wait behind a veil to reveal the glory of their transformation to the audience and their family and friends. By losing weight the contestant had gain the hope of winning a new beginning and an ever-increasing glory. All they had to dowas join the boot camp and “Get In Formation.” Sadly, one of the rarely discussed truths is that the transformation for many of these contestants was only temporary. The producers probably did not follow up with many of the unsuccessful contestants because it would be discouraging to others to see that the transformation was only temporary. Who wants be part of a change that is only temporary? Regardless of whether it is our weight, finances, relationships or spiritual walk, many of us are looking for a real, everlasting transformation or change. The only guarantee we have in getting these transformations to last forever is through the Spirit of the Lord. 2nd Corinthians 3:18-reads: “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” As soldiers in the army of the Lord, I pray that we get “In Formation” and be further openly transformed. If we do that, there is no way we can lose-but just be WINNERS!! Some of the Lord’s strongest soldiers are our young adults. Join me in recognizing their strength on this Young Adult Day. Resoundingly, I could not think of anyone other than Minister Candace Simpson because she knows how to “Get In Formation.” With a Shepherd’s Love,
Pastor Lacey

SERMON SERIES ~ “Questions?” Who, what, when, where, why and how are all different kinds of questions. A question is a linguistic expression used to make a request for information. MORNING SCRIPTURE II Corinthians 3:12-18 (NIV) 12 Therefore,
since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
SERMONIC SCRIPTURES Psalm 139:1-8 (NIV) - 7:45 A.M. 1 You
have searched me, LORD, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the Heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
Luke 12:54-56 – 10:45 54 He
A.M.
said to the crowd: “When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does. 55 And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. 56 Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?
