First Baptist Church is scheduled to serve lunch at Common Ground Café on June 23rd and we will need to meet at the Woodford United Methodist Church at 10 AM that day. This is a great opportunity to minister to the community as well as have fellowship with one another from our own church body. Please sign up on the sheet in the front entryway if you would be able to volunteer to help that day by serving and/or make some sandwiches. We will also need desserts. These need to be prepackaged such as Little Debbie cakes, or if you choose to make cookies or brownies, they need to be bagged in Ziploc bags one or two per bag. If you have any questions please call the church office.
The fleece has been prepped for the workshop and only requires cutting and tying. A light lunch of Pizza and other refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP the church office if you plan to participate (304-636-3448). Anyone who crochets, knits, and/or quilts and would like to make a blanket for the center is welcome to do so. We can collect and deliver them. Blankets can also be made for Project Linus (for children battling cancer). Their Website is: www.projectlinus.org. The chapter in Morgantown gives blankets to seriously ill and traumatized children. The Cancer center in Elkins uses and gives handmade blankets to people receiving chemo. Come share the love of Christ with the comfort of a warm fleece blanket.

Child Care Workers Needed First Baptist Church seeks to hire 2 part-time individuals to share in the childcare responsibilities of our church. Workers will work with volunteers to care for children birth through grade 2. Workers will begin immediately to care for children during Sunday School (9:15-10:30) and Worship (10:30-12:30). Wednesday nights and special events to be added as needed. For more information contact, Rose Harvey ,any member of the Children's Ministries or the church office.
The Youth of First Baptist Church is hosting a blanket workshop, Sunday, May 6, 2018 following the Morning Worship Service in the Youth Center. They would like to invite those who may have an interest in making the blankets. These are no sew, hand tie lap fleece blankets that will be given to the cancer center in Elkins.
Here is another opportunity to serve the community as we have a local agency that is in need of bath towels and twin size sheets. We will collect these during the month of May and there will be boxes at both entrances for your gifts. This is a great way to minister to some families that are in need.
