Versailles Baptist Church exists to glorify God by helping people Decide to follow Christ, Devote to spiritual maturity, and Demonstrate their faith to others. Fifty Plus State Park Trip Our Fifty Plus group went to Barren River State Park lodge from October 26—28. Along with wonderful meals, a great time of relaxation and fellowship was had by all. We were able to take some long walks in the fresh Fall air, and all of the jigsaw puzzles were completed late Tuesday night! One of the highlights was the lawn chair volleyball game. (Wish we had pictures of that!) The next Fifty Plus Day trip is to Berea with lunch at the Boone Tavern on October 18th. Mark your calendar and sign up on the Fifty Plus bulletin board in the Second Floor Connector if you would like to go.
Member News Attendance for October 2, 2016 8:15 Worship—118, 10:45 Worship—279 Sunday School—314, Spanish—15 This Sunday, October 9th at 7:00 PM—The mission group that went to Maine will share about their ministry opportunities while there a few weeks ago. Immediately following the sharing time, we will hold a Special Called Members Meeting to discuss media upgrades in the sanctuary. Fifty Plus Potluck Luncheon—Our next meeting is Monday, October 10th. Our special guest speaker will be Dr. Ric Redden, DVM—International Horse Podiatrist and Creative Blacksmith. Ladies Book Club—We will be reading and discussing Illegitimate by Brian Mackert on Tuesday, October 25 at Amy Bailey’s home, 2077 Williams Lane Fire Gate #19. The book is available on Amazon for $5. Come at 6:30 for refreshments and a great time of fellowship. Contact Amy at 3388-8940 for info. The Jenny Musen Women on Mission group is serving at the Keeneland Back Track on October 15th. Main needs are towels, twin size egg crate mattresses, gloves, blankets, shampoo, toothpaste, men's jeans-waist sizes 30, 32 or 34, individual canned food items, and jackets. Toy Project—Preparations are being made for the Toy Project Ministry, which will be December 11, 2017. If you would like to serve on the planning committee, please contact Sandra Williams (859-333-6841) by October 9.
