Superintendent’s Newsletter “Thanksgiving Blessings” November 19, 2015 The month of November and the anticipation of the upcoming holiday season is generally when we think of all our blessings. The things that we are thankful for are countless and important factors in our everyday lives. Family is our foundation and our greatest blessing. Personally and professionally, I am thankful for so many things. As I think about Alpine ISD, the blessings are tremendous. The people that work for and lead our district are amazing. Teachers, support personnel, maintenance workers and bus drivers, custodial staff, food service staff, and our administrators all work hard each and every day to successfully educate our students. Their level of dedication is evident in how hard they work to ensure positive experiences for each student and family that we serve. The leadership and commitment of our Board of Trustees is a critical component in promoting educational excellence at Alpine ISD. Our board members come together as a group and value each child's education. Their volunteer service and tremendous support for district programs and initiatives is incredible. These seven individuals are a great blessing to our students, district, families, and our community. I am thankful for the community of Alpine and the families that we serve. The involvement of our community members and the engagement and support we receive from our families is priceless. We are truly blessed to be part of a community where business leaders, the faith community, volunteer organizations, and so many more support our schools. On behalf of Alpine ISD, thank you for your support and for working together for the best interest of our students. A true blessing is the student body at Alpine ISD. Our students are polite, respectful, and have an amazing sense of pride. Our students show tremendous potential in the classroom, and in every competition, performance, or activity. This is a credit to families and to the entire community. I am proud of and grateful for all of our students. It has been said that thankfulness is the beginning of happiness and there is always something to be thankful for. I am truly grateful to be part of such an amazing school district and community. I wish you the very best for the Thanksgiving season. Becky Watley
