SUMMIT SUPERWALL
A supremely superior finish to your internal walls Superwall is a unique form of double-brick construction using drywall-lining instead of wet plaster. Summit Homes first installed superwall in the Aloha display home in 2013. The response (from both home-buyers and the building industry) was immediately positive and superwall is now included as a standard feature in all Summit display homes. As of December 2014, Summit Homes is the only builder in WA to offer superwall as a standard inclusion. This is great news for new home-buyers. Not only does superwall create incredibly smooth internal walls, the installation is clean, fast and efficient, it’s easy to maintain and, over-time, resistant to settlement and cornice cracking.
SUPERWALL OFFERS THE FOLLOWING BENEFITS TO NEW HOME-OWNERS: ✔ Superior smooth finish to internal walls
✔ Reportedly a much quieter product as it offers the benefit of double brick construction plus a small cavity between the superwall and the brick. We observe this creates a notably quieter disposition
✔ Cleaner, pronounced edges and corners ✔ Laser level straight finish ✔ No visible joins where the boards come together ✔ Superior acoustics performance ✔ Easier to repair if damaged
✔ Better thermal performance: cooler in summer, warmer in winter
✔ Superwall is made of the same material as the cornice and ceiling. Therefore if movement occurs (during the settling of the home) cornice and settlement cracking is unlikely ✔ Inserting screws and nails into superwall (for hanging pictures), creates no problems with cracking – this is extremely rare with traditional hardwall plaster.

It doesn’t cost the earth An extremely clean process with minimal wastage, superwall has less impact on landfill and ultimately the environment. Any superwall offcuts can be recycled by Boral into new plasterboard or even used as a gypsum-based soil conditioner.

Superwall arrives as pre-fabricated board and is measured and cut on-site to the required sizes (for each specific wall within the home). A specially formulated wet-area board is used for the bathrooms and laundry. Wet Area Plasterboard™ - 10/13mm

To remove any excess cement, the bricks are carefully scraped before installation of superwall.
The pre-cut superwall boards are applied. A straight edge is used to align the sheets so they are plumb.

An extremely powerful bonding agent is mixed using the Boral proprietary blend.
Windows and openings are simply trimmed out as required.

The adhesive is drawn into the purpose-made pump.

Joints and corners are filled, flushed and corniced. Then all joins undergo a sanding process - exposed edges are crisp, clean and super smooth

The adhesive is applied directly to the solid brick wall at pre-determined intervals.
